Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse Sequel Finds Its Directors

There has been a lot of news going on in the world of Spider-Man over the past few months. Well, actually, there has been a lot of Spider-Man news over the past two decades. With various films, leading actors, and comic storylines, this hero has never (and will never) go out of style. Still, this doesn’t make new news any less exciting. We have just found out that the upcoming sequel for Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse has found its directors with a worthy trio.

Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse Sequel Gets Directors Ahead of Production

2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse found a massive amount of success. Despite taking an animated route and switching up the timelines, the film went on to earn more than $375 million at the box office, in addition to the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, this film begged for a sequel. And fortunately, one is on its way.

In trend with the three director theme, the directors for the Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse sequel will also have a trio behind it. This one will see Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson behind the feature film.

Dos Santos is best known for his work on Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. Justin K. Thompson, who worked on the production design of the first film, is also amongst the trio. It will be his first directing feature. Joining them is Powers, who most recently co-directed Soul, one of Pixar’s most innovative films.
