Who is Marvel’s Kraven?

Sergei Kravinoff, better known as Marvel’s Kraven, is an infamous character that first appeared in the 1964 comic book edition. He made his debut appearance as Spiderman’s enemy.

Aside from being the spidey’s worst enemy, Kraven the Hunter quarreled with other heroes such as Tigra and Black Panther. Marvel’s Kraven is one of the founding members of the Sinister Six, which includes archenemies such as Mysterio, Doctor Octopus, Osborn, and Venom.

When it comes to the cinematic debut of this character, Kraven the Hunter was first seen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Moreover, Aaron Taylor-Johnson will portray this anti-hero in the upcoming solo MCU installment.

Kraven the Hunter Movie Release Date & Cast

Counting Venom, there are very few solo installments about the MCU anti-heroes. That being said, this is about to change since we’re officially getting a movie about Marvel’s Kraven.

Movie titled Kraven the Hunter will hit the theaters on October 6th, 2023. Sony Pictures will be behind the movie, while J.C.Chandor will serve as the director. The writing team consists of Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk.

When it comes to the cast, the main character, which is Marvel’s Kraven the Hunter, is going to be portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Moreover, some of the faces that will appear alongside him include Ariana DeBose, Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott, and Alessandro Nivola.

More precisely, Ariana DeBose will portray Calypso, while Christopher Abbott will portray the main villain, Foreigner.

In addition, now we have the first official trailer. The trailer shows Kraven the Hunter sitting on his throne and wearing a lion mane. Moreover, Russell Crowe portrays his father.

The trailer shows the basic plotline of the upcoming movie. It shows the first hunt in which Kraven’s dad takes him along. While it’s not entirely significant, this hunt will shape the mind of Marvel’s Kraven.

Moreover, this hunt is very specific, since young Kraven encountered a lion. Managing to beat the lion off and ultimately slay him, Kraven takes his mane as a victory trophy.

Lastly, judging from the official trailer, the upcoming installment in the MCU will not feature fans’ beloved Tom Holland, known as Spider-Man. On the contrary, the movie will show Sergei Kravinoff’s growth as a hunter and his downfall.
