Christopher Nolan is the kind of director who needs no introduction. He’s reached a level of success where his films are considered worth seeing just because of the auteur behind the lens. Still, with theatres having limited films to show around the world, Warner Bros has decided to re-release his most successful films to get us more hyped for the next. Hong Kong and Taiwan are set to re-release Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy before Tenet hits theatres.
Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy to Re-Release in Hong Kong and Taiwan
The days of weekly movie nights seem long gone now that theatres across North America are shut down. However, in Hong Kong and Taiwan, theatres are re-opening. Beginning May 29th, theatres in Taiwan will rollout showings of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. Hong Kong will show Batman Begins starting on June 4th, then The Dark Knight from June 11th, and The Dark Knight Rises on June 18th.
Plenty of films have had to delay their theatrical releases. Others have been forced to release them digitally. There’s certainly a limited amount of films being released right now, and theatres will have to cope with the lack of new movies while still bringing in an audience. What better way to do it than by playing old favorites? Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy is a great way to kick it off. Warner Bros is planning on re-releasing other popular films, including the Harry Potter films, at a later date.

Building The Excitement For Nolan’s Tenet
Now, any time would be the perfect time to re-release the Dark Knight trilogy. The films made billions at the box office and were a critical success. However, Nolan’s newest film will be releasing this summer, making it the perfect time to increase the excitement. Tenet, starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, is scheduled for a July 17th release. Whether it’ll actually release on time is still up in the air, as it would find far more success if more theatres are open to show it.
While it may not beat watching newer films, re-releasing famous titles is a great way to fill up empty seats at the theatre. There are some movies that are designed to be seen on the big screen, and having the chance to watch them as they deserved to be watched is worth the admission price. My personal favorite cinematic memory is watching another Christopher Nolan film, Interstellar. The thrilling score and breathtaking visuals will never be replicated on a small screen.
