May 4th is Star Wars Day if you haven’t noticed by the literal outpouring of announcements, fan celebrations, and hashtags online. There’s a lot to love about the Star Wars fandom, but one thing many are critical of is the lack of great Star Wars games. One outlier from an otherwise rough period of canceled titles and radio silence was Jedi: Fallen Order. In celebration of Star Wars Day, developer Respawn announced a fun surprise: a Jedi Fallen Order free update. Here’s what players can expect to find in terms of content and new gameplay features.

What’s In the Jedi Fallen Order Free Update?

I loved this game quite a bit, and Joshua’s Jedi Fallen Order review hit on the game’s high points perfectly. This  Jedi experience delivered on every aspect fans could want. Given the developer worked on the surprise hit series Titanfall, the positive feedback is not surprising.  In the May 4th announcement, a ton of new features surprised and excited fans of the game. I think what the update offers serves as more than enough of a reason to dive back into the game.

First off, we’re going to be able to have access to all cosmetic items. This addition adds a fun visual flair to any replay gamers might take on. Meditation training is also going to provide fun challenges to test the player’s skills. From the looks of it, we’ll be able to take on waves of enemies in some of the game’s iconic settings. For the creative-minded gamers, you can even create your own challenges. Place enemies around a grid map to craft a battle of your choosing. New cosmetic awards are also going to show up in the game. One example shown in the video is of Inquisitor Cal donning an all-black suit and double-edged red lightsaber.

Will There Be a Sequel to the Game?

Fans might have wanted the announcement for a Jedi Fallen Order sequel instead of a free content update. Chances are there is probably already something underway. Last December, I wrote about a job posting that sparked Jedi Fallen Order sequel speculation. In time, we’ll probably get another adventure with Cal and the crew.

Altogether, there are several things to love about Star Wars Day including fun little announcements like this one. If the Jedi Fallen Order free update is enough to make you play again, then let us know in the comments! Thanks for reading Comic Years for all things gaming, comics, and pop culture.
