New York Comic-Con, or NYCC as we lovingly call it, was an absolutely crazy experience. There was so much comic news coming out of NYCC, that it was hard to keep up with. Out of the many events, I was able to get into three great panels, and there was some really exciting news.
Dawn of X News
Dawn of X was the biggest NYCC panel I got to attend, and had some of the best news, including one announcement people flipped out over.

Final Thoughts on NYCC, The Comic Convention With the Best News
Again, it was insane. Next year, I hope to go as press, and bring some of my Comic Year Comrades with me. This year, I was fortunate to go as an educator–great discount, but only a few perks, like the pro lounge. I loved that lounge. So quiet. There were well over 200,000 people in attendance. Basically, nearly half of the state of Wyoming attended this event.
But with the large crowds came some drawbacks. It was nearly impossible to take pictures on the floor, and those who tried were quickly shunned by fellow comic fans. Mostly, there was no room. Sure, there were areas where cosplayers could take pictures, but that was designated for professional photographers. Taking quick shots on my smartphone? Yeah, not the best option.
Still…it was an amazing experience. At the very least, it was amazing to see so many people passionate about the same things. When you stand in that crowd, you know you are part of a legion.
Now I just need a year for my feet to recover.
