With everything going on in the world right now, the future of film and television is getting… interesting. Despite many delays in filming and production, some things get to keep moving forward. After all, when the world opens back up again we’re going to be in dire need of some good entertainment. The CW has been updating us with all the upcoming series orders for the upcoming broadcast season, and it’s come with some good (and bad) news. Despite some fun new shows being picked up, their most recent list seems to be lacking something. A rumored Green Arrow and the Canaries is still in limbo.
Green Arrow and the Canaries In An Apparent Limbo
Arrow gave fans hope of a Green Arrow and the Canaries series with a backdoor pilot episode in its final season. This potential series would allow for an exciting female-led series for the Arrowverse, which would star Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy, and Juliana Harkavy. While rumors pointed toward the new series being picked up, news from The CW proves otherwise.
In The CW’s most recent listing of upcoming shows and renewals, there’s no mention of Green Arrow and the Canaries. This may be a case where the coronavirus pandemic is halting all new efforts to create the spin-off show. Any potential filming would be delayed regardless, which may be slowing down the advancement of the series. There also has been no news of the series being passed over. So, it’s the hope of fans everywhere that Green Arrow and the Canaries is only stuck in a pandemic-induced limbo, and that it’s not suffering from any other impacts.

We Eagerly Await News From The CW
Greg Berlanti may have his hands full with his executive producing work on other The CW series. Though, now that Arrow has run its course, it’s time for another superhero show. Green Arrow and the Canaries is the perfect story to fill its place. We still have high hopes that more news about its development is coming in the near future.
