Toy Story 5 Officially Headed Our Way

Toy Story 5

It’s official! After years of waiting, we will finally see Tim Allen repeat his role as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 5. The news was officially confirmed, alongside several other major Disney projects. Read on to find out more.

Toy Story 5 Coming Soon

Tim Allen, the voice actor behind Buzz Lightyear, officially confirmed the making of Toy Story 5. The fifth installment will feature both Buzz and Woody.

“The marriage of the outraged voice of mine inside this outraged body of a toy was — I mean, it was just undeniably great. So I was in from the get-go. They invited me over to sort of explain this odd unknown quantity of something that may or may not work. And I said, ‘Well, it looks fine to me. Let’s do it!’ And thus it began”, explained Tom Hanks about his previous role as Woody. We are eagerly waiting for him to confirm his return!

Hopefully he does. The fifth movie in the Toy Story franchise makes headlines four years after the fourth movie. Just a swift reminder for those who repressed this awful memory: In Toy Story 4, Buzz and Woody seemingly part ways forever.

However, Tim Allen’s tweet gives us the official hint that the duo is back together. While Toy Story 5 is currently in development, we expect it to arrive in theaters in 2024. Moreover, we still have to wait for information about the plot and cast.

The news about Toy Story 5 was a relief for many fans. While we really do love the franchise, the 2022 spinoff about Buzz Lightyear didn’t leave the best impression. Luckily for us, this is not going to be a sequel of this spin-off, but rather return to the roots.

While we wait for more information about Toy Story 5, check out other major Disney comebacks.

Frozen and Zootopia to Get Sequels

The revival of three major movie franchises may be Disney’s way to apologize. Just days ago, Disney was under fire on social media platforms due to the layoff of 7,000 workstaff.

Apart from Toy Story 5, we will also see sequels for Frozen and Zootopia. After several 2022 public jokes between Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel about new Frozen projects, it’s official now. Frozen 1 and Frozen 2 brought together a whopping $4B in box office.

While we wait for the two main actresses to confirm their reappearances as Elsa and Anna, we do know Josh Gad is back! He confirmed it in a recent tweet, saying ‘Excited to head back… into the unknown’. And we’re ecstatic to see Olaf melt for people he loves once again!

In addition, Zootopia 2 is also headed our way. It’s very likely that all three, including Toy Story 5, will arrive sometime in 2024. Stay tuned to find out more details!
