As the MCU keeps Peter Parker’s future uncertain, an intriguing theory proposes two potential candidates to serve as the primary villains in Spider-Man 4.

After his recent appearance, Tom Holland’s interpretation of Peter Parker in the MCU has reached a crucial point. It has also sparked several theories about the possible new villains he could face in Spider-Man 4. After Doctor Strange erased the memories of those who knew him, Peter started from scratch. At the end of the film we see him with a life of anonymity behind the mask as he embarked on a new personal journey. This return to his roots allows Parker to reclaim his role as protector of New York City. However, speculation continues to grow about the villains he may face in the next installments of the MCU.

Simultaneously, New York has witnessed the emergence of several prominent figures, both heroic and villainous. Daredevil has asserted himself as one of the MCU’s latest protectors. In addition, Disney seems to have integrated the rest of the Defenders into the official MCU timeline by incorporating their respective Netflix series. As for possible adversaries in New York, some clues have positioned two strong contenders to become Spider-Man’s latest MCU adversaries.

Spider-Man 4 Villains May Include Kingpin and Venom

Daredevil and Kingpin have been active in recent MCU releases. We’ve seen Matt Murdock making his initial cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Wilson Fisk taking on a central role in Echo. In the latter appearance, the MCU establishes Maya Lopez as yet another arch nemesis. For his part, Wilson Fisk appeared to be considering a run for mayor of New York, a position he might get. Now, Spider-Man 4 is about to feature Parker’s return to his role as New York’s friendly Spider-Man, a showdown with Wilson Fisk, now as a newly established villainous mayor, seems almost inevitable.

Meanwhile, Venom enjoyed a fleeting foray into the MCU. We got a glimpse of the villain after Eddie Brock was transported from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe to Peter Parker’s universe. However, we only saw a brief conversation with a bartender. The post-credits scene portraying this highlighted a piece of Venom that was inadvertently left behind. Thus confirming that No Way Home was not the last the MCU would see of the Venom symbiote. It stands to reason, then, that Spider-Man 4 would be the film that immediately picks up this exciting MCU storyline.

The Synergy of Kingpin and Venom as Antagonists in the MCU

Given the extensive array of villains in his rogues ‘ gallery, Venom and Kingpin stand out as two of Spider-Man’s most iconic adversaries. The prospect of featuring these formidable foes alongside Spider-Man in his fourth MCU installment is inherently exciting. Moreover, their simultaneous appearance in the same film would pave the way for a compelling narrative, seamlessly fitting into Peter’s evolving story arc.
