All of the production teams who began filming earlier this year were a very unlucky bunch. Pretty much every film set was shut down in March due to the worsening coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, as some countries ease restrictions, many are now able to resume filming. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is among this bunch, and the film will resume production this July.
Production On Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings To Resume

The fourth phase of the MCU was going to kick off with the release of Black Widow. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be one of the phase’s earliest films, as it is currently set to release on May 7th, 2021 (though, who knows at this point with so many delays). The story follows the Marvel superhero, Shang-Chi (played by Simu Liu). Specific plot details are still under wraps, which is no surprise to Marvel fans.
Filming began and will continue in Australia. The country has continued to flatten the curve of new coronavirus cases with success. So, it is unsurprising that film productions now have the green-light to continue production. No specific date has been released regarding when filming will resume, though the goal is to continue the film’s production by the end of July.
Safety Guidelines In Place
As per Australia’s current guidelines, all cast and crew members for the film must spend 14 days in quarantine. No other specific safety measures put in place by Marvel have been made public.
We recently reported that Jurassic World: Dominion was set to resume filming in early July. Universal had decided on implementing specific protocols to keep all crew safe. The plan, which will cost the studio $5 million, included things like ongoing testing, specialized COVID-19 training, and mandatory mask-wearing. Hopefully, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will have similar measures in place when they resume production.

We’re Eager For The Future Of Film As Productions Around The Globe Resume
So many major releases have had to change their plans. Plenty of titles on streaming services continue to be made available, so we haven’t hit a period without anything new to watch. Now that so many films and series have needed to halt production and filming, we might hit the original release window for all these planned films and be left with nothing to watch! Productions being able to start filming again gives us hope that the film industry won’t be suffering for too long. Though, safety is always the priority, even if it means waiting longer to see some highly anticipated movies.
