Could Kirsten Dunst Make an Appearance in Spider-Man No Way Home as an Older Mary Jane?

With the confirmed appearances of Doc Ock, Electro, and others in Spider-Man: No Way Home, speculation continues to run wild about other returning stars from past films. Of course, there’s the rumor that all three Spider-Men showing up as well as others from the Tobey McGuire and Andrew Garfield-starring films. Why not throw in another mainstay of the original Spider-Man trilogy: Mary Jane Watson.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mary Jane actress Kirsten Dunst suggested she’d love another shot at a Spider-Man movie. “I wish they’d put me in another one,” she said. “Like, old-girl Mary Jane — why not? I would do [another superhero movie]. Everybody else is!” While that sounds optimistic, it could also be a misdirection that leads some to believe she hasn’t been approached already. Furthermore, some speculation even says she’ll show up in the new film releasing later this month.
If we get the likes of Kirsten Dunst and even Amazing Spider-Man star Emma Stone, this could be a full-fledged reunion of the multiverse. It’s worth noting that this would be truly remarkable. I keep reminding myself that Marvel Studios and Sony might just pull off one of the cooler multiverse reunions ever. C’mon: the first Spider-Man film released in 2002. That’s twenty years, two decades, before the new film releasing starring Tom Holland. While we can’t say for sure that she’s making an appearance, it’s exciting to know that the Mary Jane many of us known and love is up for another movie.
