During the GUNDAM Fan e-Festival 2023, Bandai Namco Filmworks and Atlas V, a virtual reality (VR) production company, revealed the Gundam Silver Phantom VR key visuals. Check out everything we know so far.
When is Gundam Silver Phantom VR Animation Coming?
The Gundam Silver Phantom VR project was announced by Pierre Zandrowicz of Atlas V and Ken Iyadomi of Bandai Namco Filmworks at Anime NYC on November 18. On this day, the collab team released the official teaser video featuring the logo. Zandrowicz described the project as “an immersive adventure that leverages the best of both worlds”.
This marks the first collaboration between Sunrise and a French company, Atlas V. There is still no official information regarding the release date for the upcoming Gundam Silver Phantom VR.
Mobile Suit: Requiem for Vengeance
Bandai Namco Filmworks has also announced the Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance project. This project will consist of six 30-minute episodes. Epic Games‘ Unreal Engine 5 by Sunrise and Safe House will produce the project in its entirety.
Additionally, Sunrise Beyond recently released the three-episode anime Gundam Build Metaverse. This project directly promoted Bandai Namco Entertainment‘s planned “Gundam Metaverse” project.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, an original animated series, will now be available for streaming worldwide exclusively on Netflix.
Requiem for Vengeance is set in the European front during the One Year War. To bring this series to life, the creators utilized Unreal Engine 5, a remarkable 3D production tool. The series comprises of six episodes, each lasting for 30 minutes.
In the newly revealed teaser, viewers can see glimpses of war-ravaged European cityscapes and expansive natural landscapes. The protagonist, Iria Sorari, and the ZAKU II Mobile Suit make appearances, alongside various characters and mechs that have remained undisclosed until now.
