Each year, The Game Awards ceremony picks the best of the best in many categories in order to choose the best game of the year. This time around, the event will give recognition to the best games in a total of 31 categories. These categories vary from ‘Game of The Year’, ‘Best Audio Design’, ‘Best Narrative’, and ‘Most Anticipated Game’, to the underrated categories such as ‘Best E-Sports Athlete’ and ‘Best E-Sports Team’. Therefore, read on to find out our Game of The Year 2022 winner predictions for some of the most interesting categories.
Game Of The Year 2022 Winner Predictions in Category: Game of the Year
The nominees in this year’s Game of The Year 2022 category include ‘A Plague Tale: Requiem’, ‘Xenoblade Chronicles 3’, ‘Stray’, ‘Horizon Forbidden West’, ‘Elden Ring’, and ‘God of War: Ragnarok’. Furthermore, many gamers are already voting for ‘God of War: Ragnarok’ to win. Honestly, my personal favorite nominee is ‘Stray’, because it allows you to roam the streets from a kitten’s perspective. Despite this, I still feel that ‘God of War: Ragnarok’ is unique and really deserves to win this time around.
Not only does ‘God of War: Ragnarok’ has amazing scenery and intense music throughout the game, but it also has a heartwarming plot. It follows the story of Kratos and his son, who have a complex relationship. Game players are able to watch them bond and fight together. Moreover, the game is nominated in 10/31 categories this year! In conclusion, our vote also goes to ‘God of War: Ragnarok’.

Who will be the Winner in Category: Best Ongoing Game?
This category awards the game with the most outstanding development over the year. The nominees are ‘Apex Legends’, ‘Destiny 2’, ‘Final Fantasy XIV’, ‘Fortnite’, and ‘Genshin Impact’. That being said, there are many things to take into consideration in this category.
Solely based on the new features installed in the latest versions of these games, ‘Apex Legends’ takes an easy win (sorry). However, I am someone who grew up buying DVD versions of Final Fantasy. This is why I need to praise the quality update of the old/new features in ‘Final Fantasy XIV’.

This is the last category for which we created Game of the Year 2022 winner predictions. The category for the most anticipated game of 2022 focuses on the best upcoming game. The nominees for this year’s prize include ‘Final Fantasy XVI’, ‘Hogwarts Legacy’, and ‘Resident Evil 4’. As the nerd that I am, I received my fake Hogwarts letter literally 20 years ago. This is why my choice for the most anticipated game (and 10 points to Grrrrrryffindor) goes to ‘Hogwarts Legacy’!
