Few worlds captured the world’s imagination like Pandora. The world of Avatar was an immediate hit for all filmgoers who checked out the 2009 movie. Now, we know sequels are on the way and bound to expand the world beyond the first film. Even the Disney World experience of exploring Pandora proved to be a winning recipe with fans. Why not keep expanding things further in a AAA video game? The Ubisoft Forward reveal of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora took a lot of people by surprise at E3 2021. Is it worth checking out? We have our first look at the game here so let’s explore what’s on the table.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – The Most Surprising Ubisoft Forward Reveal at E3 2021

It got really popular to make fun of Avatar, but here are the facts. Few films captured the world’s attention and imagination like this one did. The upcoming sequels are sure to be events in terms of viewership too. Why not dive deeper into this world and prove the glimpses of Pandora we saw in the first film? I think a lot of people who see the trailer will feel okay about the project. If they can offer a great open-world experience, then I’m all in.

In this new, standalone story, you play as a Na’vi and embark on a journey across the Western Frontier. This region of the mythical world introduced in the James Cameron film is a never-before-seen part of Pandora. Explore a living and reactive world inhabited by unique creatures and new characters, and push back the formidable RDA forces that threaten it.

Are we going to see an Assassin’s Creed-level gaming experience here? I’m not so sure. That said, Ubisoft is pretty great at the AAA action-adventure title. If we get an RPG elements, then that could be a cool add-on to drive players to Pandora. Others might want to see the new films first. When the pandemic slowed and theaters opened back up, screens of  Avatar surpassed Avengers: Endgame as highest-grossing film of all time. The franchise still has power after all of these years. A new game and some new films could skyrocket the series in a big way.
