This episode of WandaVision was incredibly interesting. It’s an episode that goes back to the roots and origins of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen). An origin story that we thought we knew, but not to the extent that this episode reveals. After the cliffhanger from last week, this episode of WandaVision was all about Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) taking Wanda through a journey in time. In an attempt to discover just how powerful Wanda is, Agatha makes her relive her worst trauma. It’s all scenes we knew about, but had never actually seen first hand. It’s a very Ebenezer Scrooge-like storyline as Agatha reminds Wanda of her worst memories, in order to overcome them. Also revealing how she got to the mind-set that we see during the events of WandaVision. It’s an episode that catches us up on everything that’s happened, prior to the events we see unfold in the series.
The Comic Years’ Team’s Final WandaVision Predictions
On this episode of the Comic Years Podcast, the team takes a look at how special this episode was. Joshua points out that, despite no sitcom influence, the fact that the episode went back in time, it was basically a clip show. Which is a tried and tested sitcom trope. Emily weighs on the depiction of WandaVision’s ‘evil witch trope’, and how it’s seemingly still very fluid right now. Roman continues to provide insight into all the comic book inspirations of the post-credit scenes of this episode. And we all take turns for some final predictions into how WandaVision will end next week. Or will it?
