There are some big names involved in this adaptation of Victories Greater Than Death as well. Outlier Society – the production company formed by Michael B. Jordan – is the one who picked up the rights for the series. Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo will be executive producers on the project, along with author Charlie Jane Anders.
A synopsis from Tor Teen describes Victories Greater Than Death by Charlie Jane Anders. “High school can be rough. It’s hard to fit in, yet impossible to be invisible. And when everyone is desperately trying to figure out who they are and where they are going in life it doesn’t help Tina that she’s hiding a deep secret. She’s the keeper of an interplanetary beacon that will activate someday soon. Calling her home as the clone of an alien charged with saving the galaxy. But, for as much as she feels destined to fulfill her mission, she first has to grapple with the complications with the humans in her life. As Tina prepares to take on her journey with a group of teenagers, they must grapple with learning to trust themselves and each other in this coming-of-age adventure.”
A Queer Space Opera Perfect For On-Screen Adaptation

In our review of Victories Greater Than Death, we noted how the vividly descriptive style of writing makes the book ideal for an on-screen adaptation. We also asked author Charlie Jane Anders about the possibility of an adaptation our author Q&A and podcast interview that we did with her after the book’s release. Anders was understandably coy about a potential adaptation, but we are happy to see this excellent story come to life. Of course it will be interesting to see how Amazon handles the funky aliens of the book. But we know Amazon has enough budget to throw at the best special effects. So here’s hoping they do the book justice. No word yet on whether or not the upcoming books of the trilogy will also be adapted. But odds seem pretty high that we will see all three books come to life on-screen.
We’ll of course be keeping an eye on casting the Victories Greater Than Death adaptation on Amazon Prime as it develops further. To stay up to date on all of the latest news, be sure to follow Comic Years on Facebook and Twitter today.
