Henry Cavill Shows His Scar in IG Post (and it nearly broke the internet!)

If you’re on the internet much, you’ve probably heard the buzz about “Henry Cavill shows his scar”. Many have been guilty of dragging their work life into their personal life. Ever since humanity decided to work at a place which is not home, this has been an issue. From time to time, we let our work intrude into our own lives.

Sometimes we are working even when we should be spending time with our loved ones. There is someone new who has joined this club, but nobody is going to say a word about it. There are two main reasons.

First, he is Superman. Nobody wants to mess with him unless your parents named you Kryptonite. And secondly his work is so cool that anyone would love to bring such action to home. Yes, I am talking about Henry Cavill and the now famous scar that he took home.

For those who may have missed this news, here is a quick flashback. On April 18, 2019, in an Instagram post, Henry Cavill showed us a humongous scar. Along with his ripped abs of steel. He captioned it “ When you take work home with you.”

Now, don’t be scared; this was not a real scar. The scar was made up by the makeup artists. It’s part of his look for Netflix’s upcoming series ‘The Witcher’. But the world went nuts over the scar and the previously mentioned abs. In the post, you don’t see Henry’s full face. But you do get a front view of the wound from the show.

The lesson here is that when Henry Cavill shows his scar, the internet went crazy.

Henry Cavill also put a side view of his chiseled abs and his colossal forearm. As if the scar was not enough. Such was the specimen that it got kudos from Shazam and the great Khal Drogo/ Aquaman himself. Yes, Zachary Levi and Jason Momoa joined us commoners in showing their appreciation of the exhibit on show.

The Superman star is playing the protagonist Geralt of Rivia from the famous monster hunter books. The same books which have already been adapted into video games and graphic novels. With the location of the scar on display, it is excellent news for the female fans of Henry.

The reason being it seems he may spend considerable time on the show without his shirt. Why create such a cool scar of it is going to be hidden under the armor?

In the books ‘The Witchers’ are monster hunters who with training and body modification can develop supernatural abilities. Their task is to fight and defeat deadly beasts. The story is pretty cool.

Geralt is a lone wolf who finds the wicked ways of people more dangerous than the monsters. But then he is thrown into the fires of battle. This happens when he meets a powerful sorceress (Yennefer) and a young princess (Ciri) who may be hiding a secret.

The journey of Geralt on this adventure is the essential story-line. Going by the pictures of Geralt from the books Henry seems like a perfect fit for the role. So far we have met only the scar. But the fans of the series are looking forward to the final look of the monster hunter. Along with Cavill, Anya Chalotra from the Wanderlust and ABC murders plays Yennefer. While Freya Allan from The War of the Worlds and Into the Badlands plays Ciri.

A quick look down his Instagram would show you photos and videos of him either working out. Another constant on his social media profile is his American Akita Kal (No wonder where that name came from). Henry has always been on top of his game when it comes to fitness. Even before playing the famous Kryptonian in the DC universe.

In some of his posts, he provides a sneak peek into his eating habits. But nothing seems to have awakened the internet like when Henry Cavill shows his scar. A quick look down the comments tells you how all of his followers are in awe. Of the man and the fake injury as well. A lot of credit needs to go to the makeup artist from Netflix. But when the canvas is so sturdy, the art becomes even better.

THE WAIT FOR THE WITCHER (and the story of the scar)

Not much was divulged by Cavill about what was filmed. But it presumably is an aftermath of a bloody battle with humans or beasts. We would have to wait till the end of 2019 to find the complete story and the look. Not much is known about the show either. But it is believed that the show will try to stay true to the books. This should bring a lot of cheer for the fans.

Since the actual release date is unknown a lot of speculation has been made. We’re still waiting for the trailer but with no confirmation so far. Till then let your eyes feast on the man and his scar.
