The Comic Years Podcast: WandaVision Episode 5 Spoiler Discussion
With WandaVision, the hits just keep on coming, as it feels like every episode is the best of the season. In the last episode, we finally left the sitcom world in favor of the real world. The entire episode played out from the perspectives of Darcy (Kat Dennings) and Jimmy Woo (Randall Park), and the reactions of S.W.O.R.D. They are of course, the new S.H.I.E.L.D.-like organization investigating the phenomenon of Westview. Or as it becomes known in this episode, “the Maximoff Anamoly”. There is a lot to unpack here, so we get right down to business on this episode of the Comic Years Podcast. Check out our WandaVision episode 5 spoiler podcast.

The cliffhanger of WandaVision episode 5 is probably the most intriguing that will have everyone abuzz for a while. Or at least, until the next episode comes along and totally re-blows our minds all over again. But until then, episode 5, titled On A Very Special Episode, will have to keep us guessing.
This is the first episode where the story goes back and forth from Wanda’s sitcom reality to the real world. Although it’s not clear in what time frame it’s all happening, there is a narrative back and forth. At least for the audience’s sake. You’ll have to listen to our WandaVision episode 5 spoiler podcast to try to figure it all out.
Does This WandaVision Episode Establish The Rest Of Phase 4?
In this episode, I am joined by many of our Comic Years’ feature editors. This allows us to have a lot of differing opinions and theories on what’s happening in this episode and where things are going. Our Comics’ Editor Roman Colombo breaks down a lot of the comic book implications of that cliffhanger. He also provides some context into Agnes’ role and other characters from the comics that could be behind the story. Joshua M. Patton, Comic Years’ Managing Editor once again gives us some insight into how the story and title of this episode, very much relate to the way sitcoms of that era operated. Guest appearances and all.
Resident Book Editor Emily O’Donnell discusses the ‘crazy woman’ trope in fiction, and how that’s not really what’s going on with WandaVision. We even discuss how the ongoing theme of trauma further reiterates itself on this episode, courtesy of our TV & Movies Editor, Meghan Hale. And as usual, I end the episode with wild theories that will most likely end up going nowhere. So check out this episode of the Comic Years Podcast for a complete WandaVision episode 5 spoiler discussion.
