Snowpiercer Series Releases Trailer Ahead of May 17th Premiere
If you’ve had the chance to read our retro review of Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer, you were hopefully either reminded of its greatness or been inspired to watch it for the first time. And, if you haven’t yet, then you should check it out! Snowpiercer is an upcoming TNT series that will follow the same story as the film. The series will air on TNT starting May 17th, 2020. Snowpiercer is a great film to watch as a distraction from the chaos going on in the outside world. Based on the trailer, it looks like the series might be able to do the same thing! Check out the trailer for the upcoming Snowpiercer series below!
What Is The Snowpiercer Series About, And What Does The Trailer Tell us?
You’ll be able to follow the series whether you’ve watched the film, read the original French graphic novel, or have done neither. The story follows the tales of passengers inside of the Snowpiercer. The Snowpiercer is a train that had been created to circle the globe and holds the last remaining humans on earth after a global crisis that made the earth largely inhabitable. It follows issues of class, the dynamics of power, and what it takes to survive.
The series will star Jennifer Connelly as Melanie Cavill. Melanie is a passenger living at the front of the train (reserved for first-class passengers) and acts as the Voice of the Train. She is fascinated by the folks living at the back. Layton Well (played by Daveed Diggs) is a character at the tail end who is struggling to survive. The trailer doesn’t reveal much, but it’s clear that there may be more class interaction and conflict than the film.
The Snowpiercer series has been in the works for years. However, there were a number of production and development issues due to some creative differences. The network was changed and then reversed again. Well, it’s finally ready for release, and we can’t wait!
Readers, are you looking forward to the upcoming Snowpiercer series? Let us know in the comments!
