Marvel TV and Hulu are moving full speed ahead with MODOK, an upcoming animated series. The series will follow MODOK, a supervillain who is quite big-headed, both physically and with his ego. MODOK will be a part of 4 new animated series coming from Hulu and Marvel TV, all leading up to a special event on Hulu – Marve’ls The Offenders. In the most recent MODOK news from Marvel, the voice acting cast was announced.

The (Voice) Cast of MODOK

Patton Oswalt’s part in creating MODOK has long been known. He even said that MODOK was a character that he “was, sadly, born to play.” Oswalt will be voicing the titular character, whose name stands for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. MODOK is on the journey of reinventing himself as he goes through a sort of midlife crisis.

The rest of the cast is also made up of oddball characters. Aimee Garcia will be voicing Jodie, MODOK’s wife. She’s also learning to figure out who she is as she navigates motherhood and independence. Lou, being voiced by Ben Schwartz, is their 12-year-old son, who lacks some “key qualities”, like ambition and friendship. Melissa Fumero will voice Melissa, a star of her school and figure skating, who is another child of Jodie and MODOK. Though, deep down, all she wants is MODOK’s approval.

Other members of the cast will include Wendi Mclendon-Covey as Monica Rappacini, serving as MODOK’s work rival. Beck Bennet will voice Austin Van Der Sleet, a young boss with plenty to prove. Jon Daly will be Super Adaptoid, an android who wants to do more than what his routine has become. Gary, a henchman of MODOK’s, will be voiced by Sam Richardson.

A Brief MODOK Recap

MODOK was first seen during the Silver Age of Comic Books but has appeared across plenty of comics, games, and animated series and movies across superhero history. In fact, he even appeared on IGN’s Top 100 Comic Book Villains of All Time, sitting at #100. In essence, MODOK is an individual with plenty of passion, ambition, and a thirst for power. He was once the simple George Tarleton, an AIM technician transformed by his old group. He eventually decides to kill his AIM masters and take control.

MODOK has gone against heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, and plenty more. How much the new animated series will explore is still unknown. Though, we’re excited to see how it all plays out.
