The Mandalorian season 3 will have some big surprises. We can already see Grogu and Mando back together. Some may wonder how this is possible if the latter gave the infant to the Jedi Luke Skywalker in the final chapter of the last season.

We must turn to The Book of Boba Fett series to resolve this doubt. At one point, it showed similar events to the second season. However, it changed the plot in some aspects, showing Grogu and Mando together in new adventures. This series shows how an alternate version of the events brought them together after their farewell.

Before watching the third season of The Mandalorian, you better watch The Book of Boba Fett. You will be able to see in its episodes the reasons for Grogu’s appearance with Din Djarin, as well as other details, such as the features of the Darksaber.

Grogu and Mandalorian Details After The Separation

The first detail would be the information about the Darksaber that the Mandalorian gained when he defeated Giancarlo Esposito’s, Moff Gideon. In the Book Boba Fett, they point out that Din Djarin has problems controlling his weapon. Not only does it hurt his hand, but it gets heavier and heavier when he wields it.

Actress Emily Swallow portrays the armorer and gives her some good advice. She tells him that his mental state is the reason for his problems handling this powerful weapon. She also warns him that her separation from Grogu has affected him, so he fights internally against Darksaber.

The armorer also tells him this weapon is special since whoever earns it will have the right to rule the entire planet Mandalore. However, if he does not win it, it will curse him and this entire world, causing its destruction.

In their conversation, Mando reveals that he removed his helmet. Upon this revelation, the armorer tells him that he is no longer a Mandalorian due to the tradition that they can never remove their helmet. He took it off to say goodbye to Grogu, showing his face for the first time.

He must go to this planet to regain that status and wash his body in the living waters. However, his friend tells him it will be difficult, considering that they are buried in a world already in ruins.

Finally, the Mandalorian embarks on a search for a new ship on Tatooine. Remember that his old Razor Crest ship was destroyed in the second season. Our protagonist embarks on this mission and finds a replacement, then heads to his planet to purify himself and become worthy again.

A Difficult Decision for Grogu (Baby Joda)

As for Grogu, we could see it again in episode six of Book Boba Fett. He begins training with Luke, although the young apprentice finds himself in a difficult position. Our little friend has to develop his powers in the force and abandon his friend, who is like a father to him. At this, the former Padawan of the Jedi’s father appears and tells Mando that he must leave because he disturbs the infant’s training.

The latter accepts, although he leaves Ashoka a kind of armor as a souvenir gift to Grogu. This can be easily adapted to the child’s small body, who continues training with a scattered mind because of the farewell with the Mandalorian.

Another essential detail of this episode is that the apprentice was on Coruscant when the Emperor issued Order 66, which nearly wiped out all Jedi. These memories are released with the help of Luke, who lets the child choose what he wishes to accomplish. On the one hand, he leaves him Yoda’s saber, and on the other, the armor given to him by the Mandalorian. If he chose the first object, he continued his training. Otherwise, he let him go with his friend.

As you can imagine, he chose the armor and returned to Mando’s side for adventures. For many fans, it was a nice moment in the Book of Boba Fett story

Season 3 of The Mandalorian kicks off today, March 1, 2023, so you can watch the Book of Boba Fett series if you haven’t seen it yet.
