Loki Renewed For Season 2 Which Means A Possible Appearance in Dr. Strange 2?!
Loki just wrapped up its first season and OH.MY.GOD. I’m not here to talk about spoilers and theories for the show (check out our Loki finale spoiler review for that), but let’s just say that it set up a lot for the MCU. The biggest news? We now know 100% that Loki renewed for Season 2, which means that fans will likely get to see more of the trickster god and other Loki characters!
We were already pretty sure that Loki Season 2 was likely to happen thanks to an interview that Nate Moore, the Marvel Studios VP of Production & Development, did back in April. When asked which Disney+ series he thought had the potential for multiple seasons, Moore specifically mentioned Loki, saying that storytelling in the series “lends itself to multiple seasons in a way where it’s not a one-off.”

Unlike WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which were one-season hits, Loki set up fans for the chaos that is bound to happen in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Loki is expected to appear in Dr. Strange although Marvel has yet to confirm it, but given the series finale and the appearance of a certain time-traveling villain, it would make sense that Hiddleston’s character would be around since he actually has useful information about the “multiverse of madness.”
When Can We Expect Loki Season 2?
According to Production Weekly, Loki Season 2 was already in pre-production in November 2020, and filming is set to begin in January of 2022. Loki Season 1 took roughly 18 months (factoring in the pandemic) to wrap so given that timeline, it seems likely that Season 2 will premiere in early 2023, just in time for Ant-Man and the Wasp, which is supposed to come out in February 2023.
