X-Men Reboot – MCU Rumor Reveals Its Release

The X-Men reboot is a matter of high importance for Marvel, which seems to want to introduce the mutants to this universe with great care. The company’s president, Kevin Feige, has been cautious when disclosing information about this franchise. That is the reason why few know Feige’s plans for its launch.

Marvel started on the right foot by introducing Kamala Khan into the mutant world. However, it made a big mistake by changing its name from X-Men to The Mutants. Feige states that the previous name could be discriminatory to women. Still, the decision annoyed the fans, considering the reasons for the modification of the name of the saga ridiculous.

Marvel Studios’ X-Men Reboot Release

Marvel has not commented anything about the official release of the X-Men reboot. Many fans hoped to find out the release date of this film at Comic-Con; however, this did not happen. Fans were disappointed since they wanted the new mutant saga to hit theaters soon. However, journalist and editor Devin Faraci published in Cinema Sangha the possible reason why they didn’t make announcements at Comic-Con. According to Faraci, no X-Men filming can take place until 2025 due to the contract between Fox and Marvel over the characters’ rights.

Faraci said,

“Despite the introduction of mutants at the end of Ms. Marvel, there’s no mutants in Phase 5. I know why. I know why there’s no mutants. I know why this is going to take a while. There might be individual mutants, there might be other characters that show a certain interest. The reason why is the contractual situation with the original Fox stuff is going to be in effect until 2025. So, if they don’t want to use those actors, then they have to wait until that contract all expires.”

That brings several doubts in this regard, such as the appearance of mutants like Deadpool, Professor Xavier and Kamala Khan. The reasons are simple in the case of the first two; the same Fox actors portray the characters. That’s why we saw Fox’s Charles Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and why Deadpool Part 3 is currently in production.

We will have to wait more than three years to see the X-Men in movies. If the rumors are faithful, Marvel would have the right to develop filming for 2026. That could suggest we would see the X-Men by Phase 6 or Phase 7 of the MCU.

Ms Marvel as a Mutant

The Fox-Marvel contract could also be why Feige placed Kamala Khan as the first mutant in the MCU, rather than an Inhuman, as she appears in the comic. Kamala Khan has no such drawback, as Fox never developed the character; therefore, she can be introduced in this franchise without any issues.

That could be why Feige wants to exploit the character as Marvel’s first mutant. We should note that Marvel announced her participation in the movie The Marvels at the Comic-Con. Kamala Khan will be with Captain Marvel fighting a villain whose identity is still unknown.

For the time being, no announcements were made at the Comic-Con about the mutant world and how they would integrate them into it. The only thing shown of relevance would be the premiere of Deadpool 3, which is currently being filmed. However, Marvel is still not saying a word about it.

Some say it may be a Marvel strategy for the D23 event, an expo held by Disney, in which many artists and surprises related to the MCU would be announced. Marvel could be waiting to announce the release date of the X-Men in this event, which will be held from September 9 to 11 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Marvel is still not commenting on the matter, which makes this all hypothesis and rumors. Although they make sense, considering how the company has behaved around the X-Men franchise.
