But, what does the close beta hold for fans? What will you get to experience in it? And, most importantly, how you can access it? Let’s find out.

Closed beta date revealed in Gamescom Opening Night Live

Gamescom 2022 brought a lot of good news for players. It showed off a new look at Outlast Trials. And, it offers an intriguing world that might remind you of BioShock. But, the trailer (shown below) isn’t for the faint of heart.

The Outlast Trials is a spin-off of the famous story by Red Barrels. That said, it seems to deviate from the main games’ storyline. It’s set amid the Cold War. And, players take on the role of human guinea pigs. The experiment involves brainwashing and mind control.

The title adds multiplayer for the first time in the series. Players will have up to three partners to survive the unethical experiments. But, you can also enjoy the game entirely by yourself.

Red Barrels announced the game way back in 2019. Since then, players have been begging for news. Yet, the developer has been slightly quiet about its development.

That said, Gamescom 2022 revealed the first trailer you can see below. And, they also announced the closed beta on Steam. It’ll be available from the 28th of October to the 1st of November.

So, you can enjoy its frightening gameplay just in time for Halloween!

The Outlast Trials beta bringing the experience to players

Outlast has been famous thanks to its disturbing imagery and core themes. And, The Outlast Trials beta will bring just that to players. It’s the first game to add multiplayer to the series as well.

Starting on October 28, players can team up with three friends to survive the experiments. The The Outlast Trials Beta game isn’t Outlast 3, however. It’s somewhat of a prequel. But, it still features the evil Murkoff Corporation.

The game will feature the same stealth horror mechanics. Players will have to avoid the perils instead of engaging them. But, don’t think that having friends will make things less scary!

The announcement didn’t include how to get into the The Outlast Trials beta. But, that doesn’t mean you have to wait to sign up. The process is actually fairly simple. All you need to do is head over to the game’s Steam page.

There, you can find the usual option to add it to your wishlist. But, below is a new button. You’ll find the “Join the Uninitialized” option. That’s where you can sign up for the closed beta.

So, just click on “Request Access.” Just make sure you’re logged into your Steam account! After that, you’ll receive a message saying to wait for an email from the developers.

That’s it! You’re now officially on the waiting list for The Outlast Trials beta. Just wait for your invitation via email when it’s ready!
