After the conclusion of the manhwa adaptation of Solo Leveling, some fans are somehow disappointed. For those who don’t know, Solo Leveling is the webtoon adaptation of the web novel I Alone Level Up, written by Chugong. Recently, Tapas has released a statement claiming that they will only be taking a short break before releasing the special chapters that hopefully will provide a better ending. However, perhaps the most thrilling news that we received so far about our beloved manhwa series would be its anime adaptation. The news was leaked on the Chinese social media site, Weibo. With all the signs we’ve encountered, Solo Leveling anime is gearing to become the biggest series this 2023.

Solo Levelling Anime Release Date

Yes, you heard that right. While promotions have already started, such as the release of the official theme song, credible websites have claimed that the release will not be later than March of 2023. Hopefully, it will not take long before we see it on streaming platforms like Funimation and Crunchyroll. Know that there is still a chance that they will push back the production. Understand that filming of some webtoon adaptations has been delayed due to the restrictions brought by the pandemic. What we are sure of is that a Solo Leveling anime adaptation is on the work. In fact, D&C even released a trailer on their YouTube Channel informing their audience about the much-awaited anime.

Who’s Producing the Anime Version?

It seems that the people behind this project are very secretive about the progress of the anime. There has been speculation that Studio Mir will handle the production works. Since the story originates in Korea, fans hope that a company known for producing top-notch animation series like Dota: Dragon’s Blood and Legends of Korra will supervise it.

However, for someone like me who is already familiar with the webtoon and web novel scenario, I prefer to see Ufotable or Mappa to be in charge of the Solo Leveling anime production. It would be a shame if they can’t accurately translate the beautiful arts into a fantastic animation . Sadly, since the manhwa series highlighted some anti-Japanese elements, it is less likely that our prayers will manifest.

While some people may think that Solo Leveling anime adaptation is just a generic system story and does not deserve too much attention, the number of followers it amassed and the hype that the upcoming anime version is receiving prove otherwise. Fans originally made a petition on to transform this into anime. Currently, there have been more than 200,000 signatures. The web novel at KakaoPage has surpassed the sales of 30billion Korean Won. The original theme song has been sung by one of the top idols in Korea today, The Boyz. It is currently leading in the list of the best manhwa at MyAnimelist. With an 8.74 score from more than 344,000 users. It even surpassed some manhwa with anime and live series adaptations such as Tower of God, Sweet Home, and Cheese in the Trap.

Fans are expecting 24 episodes for the upcoming season 1 of Solo Leveling anime. There’s also a chance they may choose to release 12 episodes on the 1st season and immediately follow it with another 12 episodes, just like what they did with Tower of God. The production company has yet to release the name of the cast. Be sure to keep posted in our future articles for the latest progress about the production.
