Snyder Verse Is Over According To Jim Lee
Much has been said about Zack Snyder’s return to the DC Cinematic Universe. Snyder jumped ship in 2017, leaving the development of the Justice League movie halfway through. Many fans have voiced their return with multiple social media campaigns. However, these didn’t have the desired effect. Now Jim Lee claims that the Snyder Verse is over. Let’s see if he is right.
Jim Lee, DC’s Chief Creative Officer and Publisher, made this announcement at Comic-Con. He denied any plans from Warner and DC Comics for the return of Zack Snyder. He said that Snyder’s approach had an excellent outcome. However, DC characters are being shown. Differently, that does not match the director’s vision.

Yesterday Jim Lee was at Comic-Con at the DC booth and talked about the rumours about Zack Snyder’s return to the DC movies. He noted the director’s work in creating successful films like Man of Steel (2013) and Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021). However, he said that the Snyder Verse is over and that this vision of the DC Cinematic Universe ended in 2021 with that last film.
Lee started the following at Comic-Con: “You know what’s amazing, is we spent two years in lockdown, and here we are back at a convention, celebrating the artform, feeling good. I work on the projects that are in development, right? I think the Snyder Cut was Zack’s vision realized, and it was a really satisfying story told, but there’s no plans for additional work on that material. I was happy to help contribute to the pitch for the other stuff, and it kind of was fun to see that stuff get out there because I did that years ago. I actually thought it had been erased, but they had kept it in storage.”
This makes sense from several points of view. Firstly Warner has had no new films with the director. Also and he is already launching the DC universe with a different approach. Changing it at this point may lead to inconsistencies in the plot that DC and Warner want to create. The major aims to create a common narrative, just as it exists in the MCU.
Director’s Contract with Netflix Makes Difficult to Continue the Snyder Verse

From Snyder’s point of view, it also makes sense for him not to return due to his current deal with Netflix. He is directing the Army of the Dead saga, streaming on this platform. He also has another product for this platform, called Rebel Moon.
For some, it is a mistake for Warner and DC not to consider incorporating Snyder again into their ranks. The reason is Zack Snyder’s large entourage of followers. Even though some users are bots or fake accounts, many people ask for Snyder Verse back in DCU. Maybe it is too early to say that the SnyderVerse is over.

Another announcement buzzing in the DC world is Henry Cavill’s appearance at Comic-Con. There are many rumours regarding his attendance at the event. For some, he is coming to announce his return to the character with the new Man of Steel sequel.
Other whispers point to him announcing his retirement from the character and passing the baton to Supergirl. This is because of the report that was recently discovered from Warner, trying to get the actor out of this character. Supergirl would replace Superman. However, the information was leaked, causing negative comments from fans about this idea.
Of these two rumours, the one that makes the most sense is the Man of Steel sequel. This is because the DC Universe requires Superman. This need is noticeable in all the cameos they have done so far with the character using stunt doubles. He is the strongest hero of all and one of the leaders of the Justice League, so taking him out would be a huge mistake for DC and Warner Bros.

This is also bolstered by recent comments from the actor, who stressed that he wanted to play the character again. He announced he wants to do Man of Steel 2 and wear the Superman suit again. It is possible that Warner and Cavill have reached an agreement, and we will finally see this hero again in DC movies.
Cavill’s return could cause fans to call for Zack Snyder’s return. When the news broke yesterday, many were not only taking the Man of Steel sequel for granted. They were also calling for the director’s return to develop that filming. For this reason, it may be a bit hasty to say that the Snyder Verse is over, even coming from an eminence like Jim Lee.
