Sam Raimi, the mastermind behind the Spider-Man trilogy has allegedly had a change of heart since he stepped down from directing Sony’s reboot of the wall crawler. According to Showbiz411, Mr. Raimi is now open to reprising his role and directing Tobey Maguire in the fourth installment of the series.

Spider-Man 4 is a film that was being developed before Sam Raimi joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe to direct Doctor Strange in what would eventually become known as one of their most successful movies. The project had Tobey Maguire returning for more redemption after his character’s disappointing third appearance but it ultimately failed and Sony rebooting everything with director Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield now filling in the suit.

Sony and Marvel Studios reunited to produce another reboot of The Amazing Spider-Man, in which director Jon Watts went on make three films. The third movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home ,  was devoted entirely toward exploring what happens after Peter Parker’s final battle with Doctor Octopus.

Sam Raimi has been asked about whether or not he could possibly return to direct his long-shelved Spiderman 4 with Tobey Maguire donning the suit again. In an interview, director Sam Raime explained why it is possible for him and others involved in making these films that are currently filming have pitched their own ideas as well but no one knows what will happen yet until they’re done!

“I didn’t think was possible but after jumping back in with the multiverse, I realized that anything is possible now. So, I’m completely open to it.”

With the Success of No Way Home, fans have been asking for it and now they’re getting their wish. Sony is bringing back Andrew Garfield’s cancelled third standalone film, which could serve as the official webhead of Venomverse including Morbius, The Living Vampire (due out September 6th), Kraven,  The Hunter (September 27) & Madame Web( 2020).

Spider-Man: No Way Home was considered the perfect send off for those versions of Spider Man. Now, it appears that Sony is planning on bringing him back–but will they use his original character or just reboot again? We’ll have to wait and see what happens next!
