Star Wars has several productions in development for the Hollywood big screen after a trilogy that split the fan base (as is usual with Star Wars). This has been confirmed by LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy, who stated that the new Star Wars films are here to stay.

This news can bring peace of mind to fans of the saga, who have long waited for new films in the franchise. Kennedy pointed out that there will be three new Star Wars movies, each in a different period, implying that it would not be a trilogy as many thought. We had exciting previews of these new productions at Star Wars Celebration Europe.

Kathleen Kennedy’s Comments on Upcoming Star Wars Movies

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was at the Star Wars Celebration Europe event, where she gave several interviews, including to Entertainment Weekly. In this one, she highlighted that the samples they gave about the next three movies of this franchise will not receive any modification.

James Mangold directs the first of the three films and shows the origins of the Jedi. It was quite an interesting approach, considering we saw their downfall when Darth Vader’s origin was shown in Revenge of the Sith. Also, when they resurfaced with the filming of Return of the Jedi, so it is likely that we will see events that occurred 1000 years before the incorporation of Anakin Skywalker into the Jedi order.

A rather curious aspect that generates expectations is that we could see the origin of the main Jedi master of the franchise, that is to say, Yoda. We could discover how this small green Master obtained the powers of the force and began to battle.

The second production was discussed during the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase panel. This one will tell the story between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. We will likely see what happens between Grogu and Din Djarin after the Mandalorian’s actions. Also, we may see the birth of Leia and Han Solo’s son and how Luke Skywalker was developing the new Jedi warriors.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy stated that the last film continues the past trilogy. In this, the last of the Jedi, Rey, wants to develop the Jedi order again. However, she will have to face several obstacles during this process. She will likely do it alone. Although she could have the help of Luke Skywalker, yet not Leia, considering that the actress who represented her died when they were filming The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars Series: A Good Complement to Encourage Audiences

Not only did they talk about the Star Wars movies that we will soon have in theaters, but they also indicated that we will have new series, as is the case of Ashoka, the new season of the Mandalorian and Andor. Unlike the movies, these productions are successful on Disney’s streaming platform.

The first one will show the story of Anakin Skywalker’s former student after his Master joined forces with the Sith and eliminated much of the order. We will likely see a confrontation between the two, similar to the conflict between Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Sith in the series that tells part of the story of this Jedi master.

In The Mandalorian, we will see how Grogu must make a crucial decision in his life. He must choose between joining the Jedi order and receiving Luke’s teachings or being with Din Djarin and the Mandalorians. We will also see what happens with the Dark Saber he possesses and what fights it brings them.
