Jonathan Majors Arrest, Will Marvel replace Kang’s Actor?
Marvel’s Phase V has a main villain, Kang the Conqueror. We already saw two appearances of this character, the first in the Disney+ series Loki and the other in the Ant-Man And The Wasp Quantummania movie. The problem facing Marvel is the accusations against Jonathan Majors after his arrest. The actor who portrays the villain of Phase V of this universe now faces a judicial process to decide whether he is innocent or guilty. However, the problem lies in whether the studio can wait for the legal dispute to end or will have to replace him with another actor.
A Possible Replacement for Kang Actor After His Arrest

Several names sound for Jonathan Majors‘ replacement after his arrest, including Denzel Washington or the actor’s son. However, on a podcast show called The Hot Mic, they highlighted another option Marvel could use. In this episode, Jeff Sneider and John Rocha mentioned that Marvel could look to Damson Idris as the MCU’s new actor for Kang the Conqueror.
On the show, they commented that Idris has the right profile to play such a powerful villain in the comic book universe. The commentators indicated that the Snowfall actor is “the type of the person that may look at to replace him if that, in fact, happens.”
In the podcast interview, they discussed Idris’ upcoming role in a Formula 1 racing-themed film that he will star in alongside Brad Pitt. This one has a reasonably high budget and, at the moment, has no specific title, but it will be on Apple TV, which indicates that he is an actor with a career on the rise.
The podcast commentators indicated that this could be the profile that Marvel would look for to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror after his arrest. Idris is an actor who stood out in the Snowfall series, a saga led by John Singleton, which tells the story of a drug dealer who participated in the crack epidemic in the 80s.
Idris also participates in a Netflix production called Outside of the Wire. This one stars Anthony Mackie, the actor who played Falcon in the Marvel universe and now represents the new Captain America in part 4 of this franchise.
What can Happen Between Marvel and Jonathan Majors?

An important point to clarify is that Marvel did not communicate anything about their possible action to replace Jonathan Majors after his arrest. They initially commented that they would keep the same. However, they obviously can’t wait that long, with so many Phase V productions in production related to this character.
Among the new installments is Loki season 2, which will confront this villain in the new season. The villain had his first appearance in this series when he changed the whole plot of time and became the owner of the temporal realm, or at least a version of it. There is also the movie with the confrontation between The Avengers and this multiversal and temporal being in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Marvel will likely wait a prudent time without making announcements. However, after this time, it could change Jonathan Majors, a consequence of his arrest, as the main villain and place Idris or another actor to replace him. It could also take advantage of the character’s characteristics of having multiple appearances for its different versions, an aspect that was highlighted in the post-credit scenes in Ant-Man 3.
For now, we will have to wait for the outcome of the trial of Jonathan Majors and, if it concludes in time, for him to reprise his role. It may also happen the opposite, that he is replaced, either because of the length of the process or because he is found guilty at trial.
