Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Adds New Ending
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty has generated quite some hype. However, things might get even spicier. As it turns out, the new DLC will include a brand-new ending. It was revealed in a recent interview with the Game Director.
The interview with Gabe Amatangelo covered a bunch of topics. Some of them included new and returning characters. However, the highlight was definitely its new ending. According to some sources, it’s a more positive ending, too.
So, let’s check it out.

The first question tackled the amount of content in the DLC. And, the developer revealed it’ll contain a ton of content. This time, the game is taking on a “spy thriller” vibe. It’s a new story, with a new location and characters.
They aimed to create new dynamics and expand the game’s horizons. Naturally, that includes introducing new and expanding characters. Also, the DLC will bring a new district, named Dogtown.
However, I’m definitely more excited about the returning characters. Some of the smaller fixers (plotwise) will come back. And, they’ll play a larger role.

That said, I haven’t covered the most interesting part of the interview. The interviewer also asked about the ending. Specifically, the question addressed whether the DLC would stick to one ending.
According to Gabe, the DLC takes place in the middle of the game. Ideally, players should start the content before the ending. But, you can skip to the new content as well. Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty has different endings as well. And, you can unlock a new ending for the main game from there.
The new ending comes from the new relationships with the characters. Yet, the interview doesn’t mention much about it. So, I can’t quite tell why other sources say it’s a “positive” ending.
What else can we expect from Phantom Liberty?

That’s easily the main course of the interview. But, there are still a bunch of insights to unpack here. Naturally, it’s much better to read the original article. I’ll just summarize the most attractive points in the interview.
Firstly, we have the Dogtown district. This won’t be a small addition to Night City. It’ll have several subdistricts under the antagonist’s control.
Obviously, Keanu Reeves will be back in the new content. But, Idris Elba will also play a big role with Solomon Reed. You probably know him as Bloodsport in Suicide Squad. And, his portrayal is fantastic, according to the developer.
Lastly, we have gameplay improvements. For instance, the police’s AI will have a bunch of new tactics. The player’s actions will dictate which tactics they utilize. Sadly, that’s as far as we know.
So, stay on the lookout for the DLC, and let me know what’s new!
