Iron Man, Superman, Batman, and the numerous other DC and Marvel characters may be the first people that come to mind when we think of heroes. Luckily for us, heroes don’t just exist behind movie screens. People are out there every single day doing beautiful things for other people. Sometimes it’s just to brighten somebody’s day, while other actions may change an entire life. 6-year-old Bridger Walker is the world’s newest hero. Even Captain America stopped by to praise the heroic efforts made by Bridger to save his sister from a dog attack.

Boy Saves Sister From Dog Attack, Gets Called A Hero By Captain America

Nikki Walker, Bridger’s aunt, took to Instagram to share the story of our latest hero. While playing outside, a dog approached Bridger’s younger sister. Recognizing that the dog may not be friendly, Bridger put himself in front of his sister. His reasoning? “If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me,” Nikki heard from the boy. He ended up being bitten on his face and head, resulting in 90 stitches.

Walker’s Instagram post asked any heroes to hear her brave nephew’s story. She tagged the actors behind some famous characters, including Tom Holland (read about how he saved Spider-Man while drunk here), Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and more. Numerous celebrities re-shared the post, including Anne Hathaway, who portrayed Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy. After drawing more attention to Bridger’s actions, Captain America himself reached out.

Captain America Speaks Out

Nikki later shared another Instagram post showing Bridger a video message from Chris Evans’, which played alongside the boy’s reaction. Evans praises Bridger, wishing him a speedy recovery. He adds that he knows how Bridger can’t be slowed down by anything. Not only did Captain America share his praise for the boy’s efforts during the dog attack, but he also promised to send him an authentic Captain America shield.

The World Can Always Use Another Hero

We may never save the world from extraterrestrial threats or find ourselves with superhuman powers, but all of us have the ability to be brave and heroic. Bridger Walker proved that a little bit of bravery can go a long way. Thanks to him, his sister remains safe, and the world finally gets to know just how sweet and courageous he is.

Bridger, the entire team over here at Comic Years thinks that you’re a true hero! We hope that Captain America’s shield reminds you of just how special you and your sister are.
