There are so many book series that are now TV shows or will be soon. Currently, I’m obsessed with Foundation on Apple TV Plus, based on the iconic Isaac Asimov novels. Some of the most successful TV shows also come from classic books like The Handmaid’s Tale. But now, another massively huge book series is coming to the small screen, with The Wheel Of Time on Amazon Prime Video. ComicYears.com’s genre Book editor, Emily O’Donnell sits down with our feature writer Jessica Kanzler on The Wheel Of Time books podcast, on this episode of the Comic Years Podcast.

The Wheel Of Time Books Podcast Is Somewhat Spoiler-Free

This Comic Years Podcast episode is a discussion on the original The Wheel Of Times books series from author Robert Jordan and, after his passing, Brandon Sanderson. Stay tuned to ComicYears.com for reviews of the upcoming TV series on Amazon Prime Video, based on the book series. Emily does a great job in this podcast of The Wheel Of Times books to not spoil major plot points in the book for new audiences. Even though, the TV show may adapt the books very differently, and have already made some big book to TV changes. So if you haven’t read the books, this is still a great episode to get an idea on the series.

What Led To The Wheel Of Time Coming To TV

Emily and Jessica spend a lot of time discussing the good and bad of The Wheel Of Time book series, and what about it made it possible for a TV show now. They do credit Game Of Thrones for paving the way, in a way, to make the adaptation possible. The most interesting part of the episode are the changes from the source material that might improve the stories. While also updating them for a more modern audience.
