The Comics Years Podcast: Our Most Anticipated TV Shows Of 2021
A new year brings with it a lot of brand new content. 2020 was a mess with its many delays of a lot of TV shows, both returning fan favourites, as well as brand new ones. The effect the year had on television production was significant, in comparison to movies. Film productions delayed, movies didn’t release, while others ended up on streaming services. And that was just a few of the problems the industry faced. But film production is more of a one and done deal. Whereas TV production is an ongoing endeavor, especially for shows with multiple seasons. But let’s not look back any longer, instead look forward to all the new and returning shows of the new year. Joining me on this episode of the Comic Years Podcast is the site’s feature editors Meghan Hale, Emily O’Donnell, and Salome, to run down our most-anticipated TV shows of 2021.

2021 looks to be a good year, at least in terms of content. With many brand new shows releasing on many different platforms, there’s a lot to be excited for. When it comes to franchises alone, Star Wars and Marvel are dominating with their slate of brand new shows. The premiere of Phase 4 of the MCU with WandaVision alone has been a hugely successful start of the year for TV shows. So it’s not difficult to see why it’s included in our list of most-anticipated TV shows of 2021. As usual, my choices are all genre-related, while my guests on this episode of the Comic Years Podcast bring a bit more variety. Thankfully.
The Variety Of Shows On This Podcast Surprised Even Me
Thank goodness for guests like Meghan Hale, our TV editor, whose choices included a prequel to an existing movie to TV franchise, strategically placed in a surprising slot in her list of 2021 TV shows. Which also made another of our editors’ list. Our Book editor Emily O’Donnell’s choices are personally the most intriguing, as I knew the least about the shows she’s presented. Except for the massive book to movie, to now TV franchise she’s looking forward to the most. Emily also hypes up another adaptation releasing this year, and it’s a big build up to be honest. Rounding out our list is our Pop Culture editor Salome, who always has a difficult time just choosing one. But lucky for us, she never disappoints with her choices, so the more the merrier definitely applies here.
