The Comic Years Podcast: Masters Of The Universe: Revelation Spoiler Review
Fandom is great, especially when it bands together and gives us amazing things like Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka in the Star Wars franchise. But nowadays, fandom feels like a toxic idea that is full of resentment and bitterness. Such is the case with the He-Man fandom, on the eve of a resurgence of that beloved 80’s franchise. Currently, there’s a lot of He-Man in the works, from an animated reboot for kids to a live-action version. But the first one of them out of the gate is an anime adaptation from filmmaker Kevin Smith. The fan reaction thus far to the show touted as a sequel, has been less than stellar. So join me and Joshua M. Patton and Jessica Kanzler for this Masters Of The Universe: Revelation spoiler podcast, as we deep dive into the nuances of this new show.

Like fans’ reactions to He-Man himself, I ended up sidelined as the host for this Masters Of The Universe: Revelation spoiler podcast. With Joshua M. Patton taking over hosting duties, we actually got to explore what He-Man means to all of us. Joshua has a more unique relationship with the buff barbarian. Having been around when the original show aired, making him the best suited to moderate this conversation. Joshua makes us all sharing our memories of the great Himbo, we all get into the Masters Of The Universe: Revelation show itself.
The reception from the Comic Years team is mostly positive, but we also discuss how a show created as a glorified commercial to sell toys, became a work of art. We also go back and take a look at just how the series came about, and how it ended up a sensation. Jessica even reveals another aspect of the He-Man franchise that I was completely unaware of.
Masters Of The Universe: Revelation Spoiler Podcast Discusses The Fan Reaction
Naturally, we cannot discuss this show on the Masters Of The Universe: Revelation spoiler podcast, without talking about the ‘fan outrage’. Joshua took a better look at just why some select fans of the franchise are upset. But on the podcast, we try to break down if the reaction is warranted or not. And just how the creator himself may have stoked the fires. A little.
