Werewolf Game Cast News: Lydia Hearst Joins Tony Todd and Bai Ling
As we pore over entertainment news every day, most of the time I feel like one of the hosts on Westworld. I’ll see a headline that’s like “Banana Junction Sells Hopscotch Gaming to Pebble Toad Industries,” and I’m like, “It doesn’t look like anything to me.” That’s an exaggeration, of course. Like a lot of people, I unfortunately have an encyclopedic knowledge of gossip tidbits which I’ve learned against my will. And there is plenty of news that I greet with not just recognition, but also actual understanding and even delight. That’s what happens, say, whenever my ADHD brain scans the word “werewolf.” As such, let’s light up the reward centers in our brains and talk about the Werewolf Game cast news. And oh yeah, there’s going to be a Werewolf Game movie.
When You Play the Game of Werewolves, You Win or You Cry
Before we get to the Werewolf Game news (on the Werewolf Game movie), let’s talk about the game itself. In case you’re thinking, I think I’ve played that before, then you’re probably right. Werewolf is a common party game. (It’s what I referred to as the “parlor game” in the film Cry Wolf, for example.) As such, there are a variety of methods and rules and such. (Real werewolfery is, of course, like Outback Steakhouse.) There are even official versions. However, at its core, Werewolf is just a simple social deduction game. If you haven’t played it, then here’s the most basic Werewolf game explainer. Among the group playing, there is at least one person who is the werewolf.
In some versions, this person is the mafia or the spy. If you’ve played Among Us, then it’s the Impostor. But it’s all in service of the same result. The rest of the players try to figure out which person is the big bad wolf. Meanwhile, of course, the werewolf tries to avoid detection. In some versions, they can even kill off other players.

What determines a win varies depending on the specific game type. It can get somewhat complicated or be much simpler. For instance, when they play the game on Run BTS, the objective is simply to find the spy. If the rest of the players can’t name the correct one, then the spy wins. (And much like lupus on House, it is never Jungkook.)
Werewolf Game Cast News and Details on the Movie Plot
While you can play the game with handmade cards, store-bought cards, or even online, now you’ll get to watch fictional characters play. A film version is coming and we have the latest updates on the Werewolf Game cast. The very latest is that Lydia Hearst has joined the cast. You may have seen her as Pandora on Z Nation or heard her on the podcast The Shadow Diaries. She also just gave birth to her first child, daughter Dimity, last month.

Hearst joins horror icon Tony Todd, who is, of course, the original Candyman. (Don’t say it.) He’s been in a ton of other stuff, like 2020’s Immortal, which came from the same producers (Different Duck) as Werewolf Game. In addition, the cast includes Teala Dunn, who’s done a lot of voice work, including for Bumblebee on DC Super Hero Girls.
She also does live-action work, with her most recent being an appearance on Good Trouble. There’s also Robert Picardo, who’s been on Dickinson and Star Trek: Voyager. Finally, the Werewolf Game cast includes Bai Ling, who’s been in everything. I recommend her segment in Three… Extremes if you can’t wait to keep thinking about something disturbing.
Jackie Payne and Cara Brennan will be directing the film from a script Payne wrote. It will follow twelve people who find themselves kidnapped and forced to play the werewolf game. In this version, though, they have to pick who will die. Then the “werewolves” in the group come for those unlucky souls. There is some kind of social media twist, so presumably they’ll be playing it for the morbid entertainment of others. But we’ll have to wait to see, along with finding out the rest of the Werewolf Game cast. As always, we’ll keep you updated.
What do you think of the Werewolf Game cast so far or just the idea of a Werewolf Game movie? Tell us your werewolf thoughts in these comments, on our social media, or on those full moon nights when we meet each other in the woods.
