The first trailer for ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ gives us a sneak peek into the ultimate fight. Inspired by ‘Transformers: Beast Wars’, this movie is going to lay the groundwork for the next generation of Transformers. It is the first of three movies that will serve as a follow-up of the 2018 franchise about Bumblebee. 

Who is Optimus Primal?

The debut trailer shows the ultimate battle between the Maximals and the Terrorcons. ‘Transformers: Rise of The Beasts’ trailer begins with a cameo of a… gorilla? Moreover, it is a cameo of a mechanical gorilla, which goes by the name of Optimus Primal! Yes, you read this right. Optimus Primal is the leader of the Maximals, just like Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots.

Back in the ‘90s show ‘Transformers: Beast Wars’, the Maximals came from the future in order to warn Optimus Prime about the impending war. Though the scene between Optimus Primal and Optimus Prime starts off as an argument, the two realize they should rather be allies. 

One detail from the trailer that had fans very excited is the new design of Optimus Prime, which matches Bumblebee’s design from the ‘80s! The return to its origins is also noticeable in Prime’s vehicle form, as it’s a vintage truck.

Bumblebee is back!

In the latest trailer, fans also got a preview of the revamped design of Bumblebee. Other than Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, we also see new characters Noah and Mirage. Noah is going to play a crucial role as a human ally of Optimus Prime. 

The movie already has positive reviews and many are impatiently waiting for its release in 2023. This is due to the amazing dynamic, the good balance between retro and modern elements, as well as the introduction of the Maximals (Transformers who shift into animals). 

‘Transformers: Rise of The Beasts’ Release Date & Cast

‘Transformers: Rise of The Beasts’ is set to premiere in theatres on June 9, 2023. We still have a lot of time until that! However, we do have information about who will return to the franchise. 

Of course, we will hear Peter Cullen’s voice as Optimus Prime. The movie will also introduce voice actors such as Liza Koshy, Cristo Fernandez, Michelle Yeoh, and David Sobolov.
