Timothée Chalamet Shares Willy Wonka Outfit For Upcoming Wonka Film
Halloween may still be a few weeks away, but it looks like Timothée Chalamet already has a costume in mind. The Dune star recently went on social media and gave Roald Dahl fans everywhere a sweet treat: Timothée Chalamet shares Willy Wonka outfit for the upcoming Warner Bros. Wonka movie! It seems the costume designer took inspiration from both Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka and Johnny Depp’s version: Chalamet is sporting a brown top hat, but his jacket is more the maroon shade of Depp’s chocolatier rather than Wilder’s bright purple. Still, Chalamet definitely looks the part. Check out his tweet below:

The movie is supposed to be an origin story and will follow Willy Wonka’s adventures before he opens his famous chocolate factory. It’ll also be an opportunity for Chalamet to show off his singing and dancing skills, but other than that, we don’t know much else about the plot. On Chalamet’s Instagram, he also shared a photo of a close-up image of his hand reaching for a small present that is emerging from his cane. Is it a key to his new chocolate factory? Is it a box to hold chocolate snacks as he goes adventuring? There are so many questions!

Chalamet will be the third person to fill the role of the mysterious chocolate maker. No other announcements on co-stars have been announced, although we’re likely not going to see any bratty children since this takes place before Charlie Bucket. If you need your Roald Dahl fix before Wonka comes out, Netflix has acquired the full Roald Dahl Story Company library, so we’re likely to see more whimsical fun stories coming soon!
Wonka is set to come out March 17, 20213 in theaters everywhere.
