The Wonder Twins Film – Warner Bros. Discovery Cancels – Rumor!?
The Wonder Twins film is going to be a thing of the past? That’s too bad because it looks like they were just getting started. Who knew we would see KJ Apa and Isabel May in this movie anyway?!
It’s a shame that a project based on such an interesting property, especially for those that grew up with their animated appearances throughout the years, has been canned before it even got started. We can only hope that this isn’t a sign of things to come for other properties announced in the past as part of Warner Bros./Discovery merger plans.
The Wonder Twins Was Set to Stream on HBO Max
Since Warner Bros. first announced their partnership with HBO Max, the studio has been hard at work creating a slate of new shows and movies exclusively for the streaming service. The Batman premiered earlier this year to critical and commercial acclaim, and two spinoff shows have also recently been announced: one following The Penguin ( filming June 15, 2022 ) and another set in Arkham Asylum.
The DC Extended Universe is also continuing to grow, with films like Batgirl scheduled to release next on HBO Max. And while rumors have swirled that The Wonder Twins movie has been canceled, there has been no official confirmation yet about any changes to other upcoming superhero projects from Warner Bros. With so many exciting plans in the works, it looks like HBO Max will be well-placed to become the go-to streaming service for all things DC.
We hope that Warner Bros. will give us an explanation for why they might possibly cancel The Wonder Twins film and what their plans are for the future of DC movies. In the meantime, we hope that they will continue making great films with DC Universe!
