One of the best on-screen Batmen, Christian Bale could be in Thor: Love And Thunder, according to a new report. The former star of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy may be joining The Marvel Cinematic Universe in an undisclosed role. The talented Bale joining the rest of the ensemble cast on their fourth Thor movie is a big deal, with lots of possibilities.

Thor: Love And Thunder Promises New Things

Thor: Love And Thunder is already one of the most anticipated MCU movies of the next phase. With the character of Thor being completely reinvented in Thor: Ragnarok, the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame left the God of Thunder’s fate a little uncertain.

So for Ragnarok director Taika Waititi to be returning for the sequel, is an exciting thing. One of the best things about Love And Thunder is also the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. And, as per the spectacular tease at Comic-Con, it seems that Jane Foster will pick up the hammer to become Thor herself.

If Christian Bale is thrown to the mix in Thor: Love And Thunder, it would just add to the already-stellar cast of the movie. And the MCU has proven time and time over that they can get some amazing talent on board for their films. Actors Robert Redford, Glenn Close, and Sir Ben Kingsley have all been in MCU films.

Christian Bale Is In Talks To Be In Thor: Love And Thunder

The exclusive Collider report says that Bale is currently in talks to play a role in Thor: Love and Thunder. While the role itself is being kept under wraps, the possibility of Bale back in a large scale mainstream superhero property is amazing. Especially considering that Bale is not the type of actor to do blink and miss cameos, or 2-3 scene-long guest appearances. For him to even consider a role within the MCU, means it’s a significant one. Either an ally to Thor or an antagonist.

Bale is currently winning accolades for his performance in Ford V. Ferrari, and bringing that level of A-list talent to Thor only works in the film’s favor. But Adding Christian Bale in this mix is also just causing MCU fans and movie fans in general, to go absolutely wild with speculation and anticipation.

Who Could Christian Bale Play In The MCU?

The internet has already had thunderous rumors and guesswork about who Christian Bale is playing in Thor: Love And Thunder. Although, while there seems to be a very specific list of characters that Bale could be, some are closer to the mark than others.

The best guess from the internet is that Bale is playing Beta Ray Bill. So much so that #BetaRayBale is trending on Twitter, which is the only reason I want this to be true. Bill was an alien character from Marvel Comics who was worthy of having the power of Thor. Kevin Feige already confirmed that he had to cut a Beta Ray Bill scene from Thor: Ragnarok. So we know the character was going to appear at some point in the MCU.

Christian Bale To Be A Different Kind Of CEO This Time

Another credible guess regarding Bale’s role is a more educated one. Given the storyline of Jane Foster becoming Thor, it’s assumed that Love And Thunder will have elements from a Thor comic book. The character in question is Dario Agger, a half man-half minotaur who is from that run of the comics story, and one of the villains that Foster’s Thor goes up against. Agger is also a volatile CEO of a major corporation, something that Bale would be adept at playing. Also, having Bale play a CEO of a major corporation, but one who is a supervillain instead of a superhero by night, would just be the kind of meta goofiness you can expect from Taika Waititi.

This is the most credible theory, given that it fits with the story of Thor: Love And Thunder. So much so that even the comic book’s original writer chimed in with his thoughts on Christian Bale.

Regardless of who he’s playing, Christian Bale in Thor: Love And Thunder only raises the anticipation for that movie.

Bale is currently in Ford. V. Ferrari right now. While Thor: Love And Thunder will be in theatres on November 5, 2021.
