The Russo brothers are the minds behind some of our most beloved works. They were heavily involved in Community, the popular comedy TV series. They also directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier starring Chris Evans, who they reunited with in The Gray Man. The film rejuvenated the character, making Cap more badass with incredible action sequences. They then went on to Captain America: Civil War, giving us some of the best fights the MCU has ever seen. One was the airport battle where our heroes battled one another and the other was the climactic confrontation featuring Tony Stark (Iron Man), Steve Rogers (Captain America), and Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier).

Kevin Feige, the visionary behind the MCU, clearly liked their work. This made him put them in charge of the big guns, Infinity War and Endgame. They knocked it out of the park. After this, they went on to the intriguing Deadly Class and 21 Bridges with Chadwick Boseman. Some of the things people know The Russo Brothers for are their great action sequences and crowd-pleasing work.

The Movie Comes Follows The Novel

The Gray Man is on the way as an action thriller film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It’s from a film script co-written by the latter with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It’s also based on Mark Greaney’s 2009 novel of the same name. The movie, produced by the brothers’ firm, AGBO, launches a new franchise based on the novel and stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas in the lead roles.

The Gray Man, with a production budget of $200 million, will get distributed and streamed by Netflix on July 22, 2022, making it the costliest film ever done by Netflix.

The Gray Man follows Court Gentry, a veteran CIA operative who becomes a fugitive. This comes after being betrayed by someone on the inside. A former colleague of his, Lloyd Hansen, gets sent to track him down. Ryan Gosling plays the role of Gentry, with Chris Evans back on board with the Russos to play Hansen. Rounding out the rest of the cast are Ana de Armas, Michael Gandolfini, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Regé-Jean Page, Billy Bob Thornton, and Alfre Woodard.

The Gray Man Finished Filming

The Russo brothers announced earlier this year that production on their latest film, The Gray Man, officially concluded. Their Instagram post featured a scowling Joe Russo apparently trying his best to yell at something while being recorded by the camera. It had the tagline, “When they tell you to leave set because #TheGrayMan is wrapped…” The Gray Man reunites the Russos with writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. They worked on previous Russo MCU films such as Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Filming only started earlier this spring, so hopefully, the short production window means we won’t have to wait long for the film to premiere.

Now, people wait for a trailer or more information regarding the show. The synopsis online reads as,

Court Gentry, the CIA’s most-skilled mercenary whose true identity remained unknown to everyone, accidentally uncovered dark agency secrets. When this happens, Lloyd Hansen, a psychopathic former colleague, puts a bounty on his head. After this occurs, it sets off a global manhunt by international assassins.

What do you think about The Gray Man’s first images? Do you like them? Do you think the books any good?
