Two Villains Revealed For Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

One of the most anticipated films in the Spider-Man universe is Spider-Verse 2, the sequel to the production with Miles Morales. In the first part, we saw a preamble of the spider universe with several versions of the spider hero. However, it is only a small part of what we will see in the next filming.

The production team has already confirmed that we will see all versions of the arachnid hero. We will see Spider-Woman, Spider-Man Punk, and Spider-Man 2099. The villain for this production will be The Spot, an interdimensional being able to create portals, which in the comics caused many problems for Spider-Man.

However, The Spot will not be the only problem Miles Morales will have to face. Apart from this villain and his adolescent crisis, he will also have to fight another opponent. For more surprise, this character that will oppose the protagonist will also be an arachnid.

Miles Morales Will Have Two Opponents In Spider-Verse 2

In an interview, the producers of this movie, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, talked about the adventures that Miles Morales will face. In this new version of Spider-Man, he will face two opponents. One will be an ally, and the other the villain of Spider-Verse 2. The main antagonist will be The Spot, who will seek to eliminate all Spider-Man.

The other opponent is Spider-Man 2099 because of the suit he possesses. The latter would not be a villain, but he would oppose Morales’ decisions. In fact, for the executives, this would be a darker version of the protagonist, more pessimistic and radical when making a decision and taking action.

About this, the executives commented, “He’s not the movie’s villain, but he’s sort of an antagonist to Miles because they both think that what they’re doing is the right thing.”

They also added that this “like the villains best when they reflect the journeys of the hero – sort of a dark mirror of the protagonist…. And I think Spot’s no different. He wants to be seen as legitimate. He’s a character with a silly costume and is not always seen as the top tier of Spider-Man foes, but like all of us, he wants to be taken seriously.”

They also talked about the character’s internal struggle when the film was made. This time around, Miles Morales is no longer a child but an adult teenager facing the decision to leave the nest. However, the strong ties with his family have him tied to his home and full of doubts about what he should do.

What we Know About the Across the Spider-Verse Movie

As for the plot of Spider-Verse 2, it is known that the Spider-Man universe is in danger, and this is due to the threat of The Spot. This interdimensional being will seek to use its dimensional portals to erase the spider heroes from existence. It will be the arachnid of the year 2099 who notices his presence.

For this reason, he will seek the help of other heroes so that they can help him fight this villain. He can strike back using the portals he possesses and controls. In the comics, Spider-Man had problems since the villain returned the blows. He is using the portals that he controls.

Gwen will again seek out Morales, who is debating what to do with his family. If he should leave them or stay, since with age he possesses, it would be logical for him to live alone.

Throughout the film, we can see confrontations between Miles Morales and Miguel O’Hara or Spider-Man 2099. This conflict is due to the difficult decisions they will have to make. This will start the conflict. Both characters will act thinking they are right, which is the beginning of the fight.

As for the cast of Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse 2, we have Shameik Moore, who plays the role of Miles Morales. We also have Hailee Steinfeld, who plays the role of Spider-Woman. On the other hand, we have Oscar Isaac, who plays one of Morales’ opponents, Spider-Man 2099.

The movie formally opens on June 2, 2023. It will be broadcast in all theaters worldwide, although not all countries will likely enjoy this movie. The villain is The Spot, who will give a lot to talk about with his ability.
