Orlando Bloom Joins Gran Turismo Casting
Sony continues to create high adrenaline productions, and one of those in development has fans in anticipation. This is an adaptation of the Gran Turismo game with several sequels and titles on its PlayStation platform. The movie is already developing and will be based on a true story. As for the production, progress is still in the early stages, although Sony has given several interesting details. Among them, the production company revealed the cast that will be part of the movie. Sony also keeps fans informed about new additions. Now we know that Orlando Bloom is joining Gran Turismo casting.
The studio’s most recent acquisition is none other than Orlando Bloom. The 45-year-old actor has appeared in Lord of the Rings (2001-2003), the Kingdom of Heaven (2005), and Pirates of the Caribbean (2003-2011). The star will play the role of a sports director, who is in charge of selling races and who also makes art. It’s always good news to have a new movie from the racing area based on such a game. We had already experienced this excitement with the Need For Speed adaptation.

One of the actors in the new Sony movie is well known to the general public. The star is Orlando Bloom joining Gran Turismo casting. According to Hollywood Reporter, the 45-year-old actor joins the cast of this movie. His role will be that of a money-hungry racing world CEO who negotiates races.
Bloom’s role could be that of the villain, considering the story and background in racing movies. The actor’s role may be that of a corrupt executive who seeks to have power at any cost. The protagonist, played by Archie Madekwe, will be his rock at that time.
It would be a role similar to the villain in the movie Speed Racer (2008), in which the protagonist seeks to end corruption in racing. His rival will go to any lengths to prevent him from achieving his goal. Bloom’s role is likely to be of this type, ambitious, evil, and with a love of self only.

It’s a role he’s used to, considering his previous characters. Legolas from Lord of the Rings may not be a good example, but William Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean is. In the three productions in which he starred, this was the main character, although he came across as a character who could deceive his friends in pursuit of getting what he wanted. Most noticeable in the third part is when he betrays the pirates to save his father from David Jones. It may be that Orlando Bloom’s character in Gran Turismo movie has similar attitudes, though not with good intentions.
What we Know so far About the Movie
The film is currently in production. However, much of the plot is known. It is based on a true story, which tells the story of a Gran Turismo player who grows up to become a professional racer and races in F3.
It is the story of Jann Mardenborough, a racer who had his beginnings with the game Gran Turismo. He played the game for a long time until he entered Formula 3 at the age of 19, thanks to the fact that he was the GT Academy reality show champion at the age of 19.
We have Sony as the main producer among the team creating this movie. In the film’s direction, we have Neill Blomkamp, who directed Elysium and District 9. So far, the cast includes Orlando Bloom, Archie Madekwe, and David Harbour. Jason Hall and Zach Baylin wrote the script for this filming.
As for the development, the production should start shooting next week. The exteriors will be filmed in Hungary, which is estimated to be available in theaters by August 11, 2023.
Many fans are waiting to see the movie’s similarities with the game. What kind of races will it bring us, and which edition will it resemble the most. What is certain is that we will see the cars race with everything, both in the video game itself, if the Reality Show championship takes place, and in an actual race.
