Justice Society World War II Trailer Features The Classic Team In Historical Action
The DC animated universe is a staple of Warner Bros Entertainment, much more than the movies. The mixed reception from the DCEU is a constant reminder, especially with the upcoming release of the Justice League Snyder Cut. But the animated movies, on the other hand, are always doing new and interesting things, and are usually received positively. The recent Batman: Soul Of the Dragon is just a prime example. But now, a new trailer showcases just how cool and fun the DC animated universe can be. The new Justice Society World War II trailer is all about a one-off adventure featuring a classic comic team-up. With an unexpected appearance as well.

There might be some confusion from casual viewers about who the Justice Society is, versus the more familiar Justice League. The Justice Society in comics is a DC superhero team that predates the League. The most notable appearances of the Society were during a minor story arc in the WB show, Smallville. Since then, they have become more and more familiar, appearing in shows like DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow. The new CW show Stargirl also featured the team more prominently in its major story.
Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming Black Adam movie will also feature the Justice Society o America. The team predates the modern-day Justice League and usually compromises of heroes from the ’40s and ’50s. The Justice Society World War II trailer showcases a different iteration of the team, active during World War II fighting Nazis.

The new trailer begins in the middle of World War II. The historical war appears just as we remember it, with things seemingly in dire straights. Enter the superheroes, who will win the war for America. These heroes are the Justice Society, comprising of Wonder Woman (Stana Katic), Hourman (Matthew Mercer), The Flash (Armen Taylor), Black Canary (Elysia Rotaru), Hawkman (Omid Abtahi), along with the Flash of the future (Matt Bomer). The team is all set to make short work of the Nazis, but then an unexpected appearance complicates things.
It seems like The new movie will also have a time-traveling Flash, Barry Allen this time, show up in the past. Coming from the future, this Flash gets entangled in the current events and war against the Nazis, and helps out the Justice Society.
The New Trailer Looks Unique And Very Polished
The most gripping thing about the new Justice Society World War II trailer is how the animation looks incredibly good. It’s almost as clean as a new graphic novel, but on that moves. The animation style is very clean and very reminiscent of the 2008 award-winning graphic novel, DC: The New Frontier. The character designs also look like a hybrid of that graphic novel, for example, Wonder Woman sporting a more classic look than her modern-day iteration. The new movie definitely looks interesting and like something to look forward to.
Justice Society World War II releases digitally and on home entertainment later in 2021.
