Hocus Pocus 2 Teaser Trailer Released – The Sanderson Sisters Are Back!

Disney published a teaser trailer for the Hocus Pocus 2 movie on its Youtube channel.

On July 16, 1993, the world saw Hocus Pocus for the first time. Since then, watching this film during the Halloween festivities has become a tradition. Hocus Pocus has been a cult movie for these celebrations, which is why fans were to find out that it would have a second part.

That’s right, after almost 30 years, we will meet the witches that frightened us as children again. The witches’ dream this time did not last three centuries but three decades, although they continued with their ambition of sucking children’s souls. We will see Sarah Jessica Parker again in this saga, to the joy of many fans.

Hocus Pocus 2 Teaser Trailer 

Disney published the trailer of the Hocus Pocus sequel on its Youtube channel. In it, we can see the town of Salem in total normality, with two friends at school. One of them will be 16 years old soon and decides to do a ritual conjuring a spell in the forest.

To do so, she asks a store owner how to perform it. He gives her the Book of Spells, which the witches left in the first season, and you can see how Binx jumps at that moment. The girls prepare to perform the ritual with a black flame candle and the Book of Spells. Then, we see how Binx jumps out and goes after the children.

Binx tries to stop the girls from using the Book of Spells in one part. However, the girls insist on performing the traditional ritual in Salem, which could give them witch powers. He fails to do so, and the girls begin to cast the spell.

Next in the trailer, we can detail how the book begins to react, moving its eye, and the black flame candle lits at the end. At that moment, we see how the floor starts to open, showing a red light. Next, we hear Winifred’s voice shouting, “Lock up your Children! Yes, Salem, we’re back!”.

The girls start running as the witches come back to life. At the end of the Hocus Pocus 2 teaser trailer, we see how the witches are in town looking for the girls, talking to several people, and reacting to people’s comments.

Return of the Sanderson Sisters

The Sanderson sisters return, the three witches who terrorized young viewers beginning July 16, 1993. The original Hocus Pocus film tells the story of the town of Salem in the year 1693. The witches lived in the forest and maintained their life and youth, absorbing life from children’s souls.

Two young kids Emily and Binx, go into the forest and arrive at the witches’ house. They absorb Emily’s life and turn Binx into a cat to live forever and feel the guilt of not being able to save his sister. The population, realizing the disappearance of the children, run to the forest and capture the witches.

They proceed to execute them. However, Winifred casts a spell and declares that on All Hallows Eve, a virgin will light the black flame candle, and they will revive. At that moment, Binx sets out to prevent the witches from returning to life at all costs.

Three hundred years after these events, a boy named Max arrives in Salem. He enters the witches’ hut with two other kids, Dani and Allison. Then, Max lights the black flame candle and revives the witches who want the souls of the young. They flee the place, taking Winifer’s book of spells with them.

Hocus Pocus ends when the sun burns the witches to death, and the children manage to survive. 

In the sequel, we can presume that Winifred’s spell from the first film is still active, so they come back to life when the black flame candle lights. They will search for the girls’ souls and get the book of spells. One of the girls will probably seek to steal the witches’ powers, considering that this is the end of the ritual they were performing.

The film will be released on September 30, 2022, on the Disney+ streaming platform. Hocus Pocus 2 has a phenomenal cast with Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, Kathy Najim, Doug Jones, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, and Belissa Escobedo.
