Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 digital release date has an update. This is the final film in the saga to be directed by James Gunn, which began with the adventures of Star-Lord in the MCU. Its success at the box office and in the reviews is remarkable. However, there is the expectation of several fans when there will be the option to watch it on an online platform.

One fan asked about the possible Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 release date on streaming platforms such as Disney+ or other digital streaming sites. James Gunn commented on the same forum about the situation with regarding its release on digital streaming platforms.

The filmmaker commented on Bluesky’s response to the fan who sought to know the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 digital release date. In the publication, he indicated that he had no definite date due to the film’s success in theatres. In fact, it is still streaming at this location. The conversation on the platform was as follows:

“Q: “Is there a VOD date yet? I’ve got a toddler and can’t get to a theater in years. Actually, I’ll just google, good talk, see ya out there.”

Gunn: “There is no. We’ve been doing so well in theaters week after week it might be a little bit.”

With these statements, we confirm that the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 digital release will take longer than we thought. The movie had an excellent reception at the box office, with a release that broke several records related to the release of a movie, so, understandably, it will continue in theaters for a while longer. The problem for some fans is that there is no certainty as to how long they should wait for it to be available on streaming sites.

In fact, not even Gunn himself, who is the film’s director, knows exactly when it might be on these digital streaming systems. There may be some clues, using some hints left by other Marvel productions.

Possible GOTG Vol. 3 Release Date on Disney+

Despite not having an exact or approximate date on the possible Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 digital release on Disney+, we can use other Marvel productions to infer the time. We have several recent Marvel hits and know how long they took to reach the streaming platform.

We can take as a reference Thor: Love and Thunder, the last appearance of the god of thunder. This one had to wait about 60 days, or approximately 2 months, from its theatrical release to its placement on the Disney + billboard. Spider-Man: No Way Home took 88 days to appear on the streaming service mentioned above system.

Using these two examples, we can deduce that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 digital release date could last about 70 days. Also, with its good reviews, it could outlast Thor: Love And Thunder. However, the box office performance was at the beginning more uneven due to a drop in revenue of almost 50%, going down from $118.4 million in the first weekend to $60.5 million in the following week.

According to this, we could have Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on Disney+ and other online platforms from late July and early August. However, this will depend mainly on the film’s box office performance in the various theaters.
