Elizabeth Olsen Wants to Bring an Iconic X-Men Back to Life
Elizabeth Olsen is no stranger to playing powerful superheroes. She first made a name for herself as Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now she’s taking on another iconic comic book character: Jean Grey in the upcoming film Dark Phoenix. In a recent interview with IGN, Olsen opened up about her desire to bring one specific quote from the X-Men comics to life on the big screen: “I want to do full-on psychic warfare! I want purple lightning shooting everywhere!”
Trailers for the new X-Men movie, Hellbound: Wanda has revealed that her character is still very much under an influence from The Darkhold. And it seems like she’s bound and determined on finding these lost children!
Though it is unclear exactly what responsibilities Scarlet Witch will shoulder within the Multiverse of Madness, one can assume that most or all opposition from this point on might be in vein.
In an interview on HeyUGuys YouTube Channel , actor Elizabeth Olsen was asked if she’d ever want to utter the fateful words “no more mutants.” She responded by saying that it would depend on how they were written and what their motivation was for saying them in
a sense of obedience or resistance but ultimately said this: “It’s hard because I think there is always some level where you feel like your own identity can kind of reside within those things.”
Elizabeth Olsen, stated:
“Yes, I mean, I hope so… I’m excited for all the crossovers in the future. I do think this film opens up lots of opportunities with the Multiverse. But yeah, the immortal words are … I mean… I would love to be able to say them in some capacity to make it work for the MCU. Again, I never know what we’re doing next, so I’m always just kind of like in these interviews, just saying whatever sounds cool to me as well. But yeah, it’s not in anyone’s control besides Kevin Feige.”
It would be a shame to lose Wanda at her current power level. She’s been an important part of the game so far, and I hope that she stays this way for as long as possible!
