The first Dune movie was a huge success, and a teaser for part 2 of this franchise could show that the second production will be just as good or even better. In the first movie masterfully directed by Denis Villeneuve, we saw the beginning of this story. All started with the fall of House Atreides and how its heir sought refuge with the Fremen.

Timothée Chalamet’s character is Paul Atredis, a student who, after several incidents, becomes the Muad’Dib, a prophet of the Fremen and their leader, according to the first trailer of Dune part 2. In the footage, we see how he awakens several of his powers, taking him to different parts of the desert, where much of the plot will take place.

As for the Dune Part 2 teaser, it was shown at CinemaCon on Tuesday. In the first part, we saw how Paul Atredis, who lives a normal life, and how his life takes a 360-degree turn when he suffers an attack from the Harkonnen. He gradually awakens his powers until he becomes one of the prophets or soothsayers of the Fremen tribe. This revelation causes him to become the leader of the tribe and leads him to several adventures.

One of the most shocking parts will be to see how this student can ride giant sandworms. We also see several adventures and moments of the character in the desert of the planet where they live. It will not be easy for the protagonist since Baron Vladimir Harkonnen exiled him and his mother.

After the betrayal suffered by Paul Atredis and his mother, Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), they flee from these instances towards the desert. In this place is where the Fremen live, characters that help them to settle down and even allow them to become part of this group.

In Dune Part 2 teaser, we will see how the young man joins the tribe, not as a soldier, but as the leader of the whole group. This character is in charge of solving the different problems that the tribe presents. However, there is still a question mark. This doubt will be solved if this student can overcome and face the group of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen. This villain has an army and may try to recover the open land by fulfilling these objectives.

What we Know About Denis Villeneuve New Movie

Dune: Awakening First Look Dune: Awakening First Look

The film is based on the novel Dune, written by Frank Herbert. Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary were in charge of this production, directed by Denis Villeneuve. The filmmaker was grateful for the opportunity at the time, stating the following:

“I just received word from Legendary that we are officially moving forward with ‘Dune: Part Two.’ A dream of mine was to adapt Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune‘ and I have the fans, cast and crew, Legendary and Warner Bros. to thank for supporting this dream. This is just the beginning.”

Villeneuve also commented on the Dune sequel:

“We have heard over the past decades that it is not possible to adapt this book and that it is an impossible task. I think in the back of the studio’s mind, it’s still the same thing! The first thing was to prove that there was a possibility of a beautifully made and popular film, and I think I proved it: everyone at Warner Bros. and Legendary, they’re 100% behind the project. They feel that it would take a really bad result at the box office to not have a ‘Dune: Part Two‘, because they love the movie. They’re proud of the film, so they want the story to move forward. And they still made half of it. So well, I’m very optimistic.”

Soon we will have the Dune Part 2 teaser available; those who liked the first part are excited about this production. The film’s release date will be November 17, 2023, in theaters around the world.
