Dr. Strange Villain In Coloring Book Accidentally Revealed?

While Marvel is typically very good at keeping plots and character appearances under wraps until they’re ready to share, sometimes things get out. The new Spider-Man: No Way Home suit seemed to be revealed in a LEGO set and fans are constantly analyzing scenes and guessing what will happen next (just check out Comic Years podcast discussion on Loki!). It seems like there’s been another leak via a Marvel product and people think the Dr. Strange villain in a coloring book has spilled some of the plot from Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

Who Is The Dr. Strange Villain In The Coloring Book?

The guilty product is a Dr. Strange coloring pad and puzzle. The description says “Explore the Multiverse of Madness in an adult colouring pad. Then complete a 1000-piece puzzle of Doctor Strange and his allies in an epic comic-style battle scene!” The scene shows Dr. Strange fighting a giant squid monster, who fans identified as interdimensional villain Shuma-Gorath. The evil cephalopod was one of the Great Old Ones (organisms who predated the creation of Earth), who came to Earth and feasted on the ape-men. Dr. Strange and his mentor, the Ancient One, ended up being attacked by several of the Great Old Ones. He ends up following an energy trail from a black hole and it turns out to be voiced by Shuma-Gorath, who plans to return to power via the mind of the Ancient One. Unfortunately, he struggles to defeat Shuma-Gorath within the Ancient One’s mind and he is forced to kill his mentor.

Right now the image on the product page says “Cover embargoed,” so I think that pretty much is a confirmation we’ll see Shuma-Gorath or get some kind of mention of it in Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Given that the movie is dealing with multiverses, it makes a lot of sense that the villain (or one of the villains) will be from a different dimension. Check out the Dr. Strange coloring pad and puzzle image below via Twitter:

The image is pretty blurry, but the internet has told me that it’s probable the characters could be Dr. Strange, Wong (with the glowing hands), Scarlet Witch (the figure in red), and Miss America, a Latina teenage LGBTQ icon who can travel through different dimensions and punch through black holes (it all makes sense now right?). Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is likely to be set after the events of WandaVision given that we already know Elizabeth Olsen will be making an appearance as Scarlet Witch. In addition, Dr. Strange is going to be in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which seems to be when he releases all the crazy multiverse madness.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes to theaters on May 6, 2022.

What do you think of the Dr. Strange villain in the coloring book/puzzle? Any theories on what’s going to happen? Let us know in the comments below!
