Marvel confirmed Captain America 4 release date at the San Diego Comic-Con panel. This time we will not have Steve Rogers as the superhero. Instead, we will have Sam Wilson, the former Falcon. He will have the shield this time, although his weapons and abilities differ from his predecessor.
There has been a lot of speculation about the cast of this movie, and several rumors point to a possible appearance of Chris Evans. This time, however, we won’t see him in a starring role, but a possible cameo instead. There has also been speculation about Bucky -The Winter Soldier- and the new Falcon appearing in the film.

Marvel Studios Announced Captain America Release Date

The announcement of Captain America 4 release date news brings the question of whether Chris Evans will participate in this movie. Since 2021, it has been rumored that he could be in a new Marvel movie, portraying Steve Rogers again. There has also been much questioning about whether he will appear wearing the Captain America suit.

It is unlikely that Chris Evans will appear as Captain America, considering his condition. Remember that Avengers: Endgame showed us an old version of Steve Rogers, who stayed in the past and lived the life he wanted, passing the baton and his shield to Sam Wilson. Chris Evans also stated that he would no longer play this role. The actor reaffirmed that he is no longer interested in being Captain America, and it is Sam Wilson’s turn. Evans also played the Human Torch some time ago in Fox’s Fantastic Four movie.

That doesn’t imply that Chris Evans won’t appear in Captain America: New World Order, just that we won’t see him in a starring role. He might help Falcon fight the threat and counsel him in his internal struggle. Wilson still has that internal struggle of whether he is a worthy successor to the hero and whether it is suitable for a person of color to wear this uniform.

This possibility is more realistic and likely to occur in this film. Steve Rogers may appear at a critical moment for the protagonists and helps inspire them and get them back into the fight. However, it is still possible, and we will have to wait for Marvel or Evans to provide more information about his participation in this sequel.

Title and Release Date Revealed

Marvel Studios also revealed the new Captain America movie title and its release date. Marvel’s president, Kevin Feige, announced the title as Captain America: New World Order and confirmed the planned release date for May 3, 2024. However, he did not give many details about the plot or the characters in it.

Captain America: New World Order will star Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America. Feige did not provide additional details because Marvel’s phase IV has not finished yet, and the plot could connect to other upcoming films such as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. However, we can assume that there will be a change of direction in the world after the Wakanda fight. That would lead the heroes to fight again in an unprecedented situation. People close to Wilson may participate, as is his war buddy and future successor of Falcon armor.

We could also see Bucky helping his friend finish establishing himself as the new Captain America and deliver this threat. In this part, we could see a possible Chris Evans cameo, chatting with these two heroes. It is likely that together they will come up with a solution to the conflict the movie presents.

For now, these are all theories, as Marvel has confirmed nothing. Feige has been careful about the information he discloses regarding movies and shows belonging to Phase V before Marvel’s Phase IV ends. Captain America: New World Order should release on May 3, 2024.
