Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein joins MCU and shares what it was like being part of his first Marvel project.

Even with a huge box-office drop in its second week in theaters, Thor: Love and Thunder remains a success in the eyes of many, surpassing 500M in gross revenues. One major contributor to this success is Brett Goldstein’s Hercules.

In Love & Thunder,  Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as Thor fighting alongside Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman. The duo fought side by side in defeating the movie’s main antagonist, Gorr the God Butcher. Meanwhile, Taika Waititi returns as the film’s director, making it more comedic and heartwarming compared to Ragnarok. And at the film’s end were two after-credits, revealing big surprises for the fans.

Thanks to Taika Waititi’s skills as the director for Thor sequels, many fans loved the storyline build. The humorous sequel constantly engaged its audience with little information on who will appear next. And many fans were shocked when Goldstein’s Hercules popped on the big screen.

Brett Goldstein, who played the role of Roy Kent in the AppleTV+ show, Ted Lasso, stunned the masses as he joined MCU. The AppleTV+ show Ted Lasso garnered him a spot as an Outstanding Supporting Actor in the Primetime Emmy Awards.

Who is Marvel’s Hercules?

As Brett Goldstein joins MCU, Marvel’s Hercules finally found its actor. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were the creators of the character Hercules in Marvel Comics in 1965. The character was influenced by the Greek demigod, who possesses incredible strength.

Hercules remained in the stories for decades and became a constant guest in The Mighty Thor comics. He has been introduced to his fellow Marvel superheroes as the rival of Thor. As they went to rivaling between themselves, they searched for the answer to who was more powerful. Following the happenings in the comics, they both have their fair share of wins and losses.

Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein joins MCU

Brett Goldstein joins MCU with his Marvel debut role as Hercules. With the fans’ delight with his appearance, it appears that his short stint in Love and Thunder is just the start for the actor. However, both Kevin Feige and Taika Waititi remain silent on what is in store for Brett.

The MCU newcomer eventually broke his silence about his cameo in the film. The actor hid his MCU inclusion from both of his parents, revealing himself only when they watched the movie.

In an interview with Variety, he gleefully shares how he broke the news to his parents.

“I didn’t tell anyone because Marvel put a chip in my neck that said ‘If you talk about this you’re dead,'” he joked. “My mom and dad, I sent them a text and said ‘I’ve just seen “Thor.” ‘I knew it’s not the kind of film they’d see. I said, ‘You should go see it. It’s funny.'”

“My mom is texting me all the way through the film giving me a running commentary,” Goldstein continued. “I’m like, ‘Just watch the film!’ It gets to the end bit, where it shows Russell Crowe… My mom texts me ‘Russell Crowe’s in it again, he’s very funny.’ I go, ‘Fucking look up at the screen!'”

Hercules in future Marvel films

Clearly, that mustn’t be Goldstein’s role in MCUY, right? When asked about what he knows regarding his future in the franchise, this is what he replied.

“I truly, honestly — this isn’t me lying or being coy — I know nothing,” Goldstein said. “All I know is what I did that day, and that’s it. That could be it. It was a fun three seconds.”

The future of Brett Goldstein in MCU might be bleak as of now, but it would be a wrong decision for Marvel if they won’t include him in future films.
