There are so many classic Christmas tales that come to mind when you think about the upcoming festive season. Though, none are more well-known, beloved, or parodied as often as A Christmas Carol. A new take on Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella is coming this year, and its format is just enough to get into the Christmas spirit. Let’s take a look at what we know so far about the Andrew Lincoln led A Christmas Carol.

Andrew Lincoln To Star In A Christmas Carol

Andrew Lincoln, best known for his career-defining role of Rick Grimes on The Walking Dead and the trailer for the untitled Walking Dead movie we’ve been thinking so much about, will star as the infamous Ebenezer Scrooge.

A Christmas Carol will be put on by The Old Vic right in time for Christmas. The Old Vic theatre in England is no stranger to exciting stage adaptations. Some recent productions from the theatre include everything from The Lorax to King Lear. It also won’t be the first time that A Christmas Carol has been performed there. This adaptation by director Jack Thorne is in its fourth year. Recent stars of the stage production include Paterson Joseph, Stephen Tompkinson, and Rhys Ifans.

We’ve all learned of the unfortunate influences that the coronavirus pandemic has had on the entertainment industry and this corner of the world is not untouched. So, A Christmas Carol will be going digital. The cast of 18 performers will be live-streamed straight from the stage!
